What Skiers Say About Val Thorens

Val Thorens attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with many praising its high altitude for snow reliability throughout the season. The resort is part of the Three Valleys, offering extensive terrain and well-maintained pistes with efficient lifts and minimal queuing. Après-ski is consistently highlighted as lively and energetic, with popular venues like Folie Douce and Bar 360, though some note it caters more to a younger, party-focused crowd. Most accommodation is ski-in/ski-out, and reviewers appreciate the variety of runs, though several mention that food and drinks are expensive. Beginners note limited green runs and that many blues can be challenging or icy, while advanced skiers praise off-piste options and access to neighbouring valleys.

If you go to VT always get the three valleys pass to enable you to go to Méribel and Courchavel. So many amazing slopes to see. Only thing I will say is it has turned into an apres spot where you get people who dont know how to ski going to fast and you do see more crashes then back in the day.

Good resort for a big group of people with mixed abilities. There are many routes down a mountain to suit each skier. If you get a 3 valley pass you can also explore the other 2 valleys.High enough for good snow coverage. You can also get a view of Monc Blanc from a view point.Nice restaurants at the top of lifts but expensive. Can get a mix of accommodation from cheap to expensive.Would go again

Had a great week, it is good to know before going that some blue runs previously were red. Apparently there was a lack of blue runs so this year they were re labelled as red meaning a beginner skier such as myself had some difficulty with these runs. Very Expensive to eat out in the main square 2 alcoholic drinks coming in at a whopping 27 in one restaurant. Over all most runs were very good and resort was well looked after.

So good. Skied different areas every day. Able to relax well in the evenings to. Only drawback was that it is very expensive while youre there but you do get good value for money.

Had a great time, loads to see and ski in the 3 valleys and the snow is always good. Personally think that some of the runs could be more interesting, there's no whoops or racing points like Les Deux Alpes and less activities to do outside of skiing

I loved this resort as a first time skier it was perfect. There were lots of blue and green runs that mix well with the red and black runs meaning I could meet up with the rest of my group who were better skiers than me. The town itself is great. There are loads of places to eat and that spares-ski and nightlife is also great.

I have been too Val Thorens twice and it doesnt disappoint! As a beginner skier there are plenty of runs which I felt comfortable on and for my partner who is an experienced skier. We normally go in March and the weather has always been perfect with a good amount of snowfall and sun.The apres ski at bar 360 was amazing, the atmosphere is always 10/10 and the nightlife is always buzzing. There are plenty of restaurants too choose from. Le cabane was my favourite restaurant by far. Amazing food and atmosphere The whole place is just stunning and I have no bad words to say about it.

great for all levels and a huge resort as part of the 3 valleys. Go here every December with Family as it is high up so it is snow sure. A little pricey but all the food and drinks are really good and you can find cheap places for fast food and lots of super market options.

I went for European Gay Ski Week and the entertainment and event was fantastic. The accommodation was very basic, it was about 16sqm for 4 people, tiny tiny cramped accommodation which was supposed to be 2* but I would have said -1*It wasnt cheap either! 350 each for the week. To live like sardines in a tin. The slopes were fantastic and the location was brilliant too. A little icy on some slopes but we went in late March.Very family friendly with plenty of beginner slopes. I absolutely love the Three Valley region, so many choices for all different abilities.

Great resort with everything you need - from safe ski slopes to spas, restaurants and essentials. Not a huge range of affordable accommodation options, especially that are ski in and ski out, and not necessarily budget friendly but overall great experience.

Its big and high so snow is almost guaranteed and although theres plenty to do you can also go to enjoy the whole 3 valleys area. Accom is varied, you need to spend good money or stay at UCPA. Eating out less good. Very expensive and poor service in return.
