Great resort, quiet and easy to get to. Not many bars and places to go out to eat but it was awesome for the skiing.

The grocery shops although there are a few are quite small and expensive so its worth bringing food with you if in the area

Outside of skiing there are good activities to do such as ice skating which was very quiet in the evening.

Ski school was good value for money getting a package with skis and passes included however we found it is hit and miss depending on the instructor as we had one very good one and one who was not as good.

Overall a great resort with friendly staff.

I've been here 4 times. I can't wait to visit again. There are so many runs to discover, you'll be doing it for a full week.

Serve chevalier is a hidden gem. After completing multiple seasons in bigger areas such as 3 valley, paradiski and lespace Killy I have found sere chevalier and Brian in to be a resort that still holds all of need in a resort as an expert snowboarder, without the piste being crowded, the park being over used and under appreciated and the fresh tracks are available for 50% longer!

A diamond resort

The resort is fantastic. Its very family friendly orientated and its a very sunny resort, lots of blue skies. Its known as the sunshine valley by the locals! Its big enough but may not be challenging enough for extreme skiers. It was a fantastic destination for a one week holiday for myself, an intermediate skier. The views were incredible. I have been back since, which was fun, but now I have explored most of the runs.

Very family friendly all round resort. Great ski school and beginner runs. Lots of different areas and many runs to choose from for all different levels. Ok village at the bottom with a few restaurants and shops. Accommodation was mixed, but quite affordable. Overall, great beginner friendly resort and quite affordable.

Less of holiday resort and more of a locals ski location. Still a great resort for short holidays with family however lacking the atmosphere for the 18-30 age group. Not so much going on in terms of Apres other than a few nice restaurants. Lifts are relatively slow and occasionally shut due to wind meaning bus replacements are required to access the slopes. I felt like I spent most the time traversing from one side of the resort to the other rather than enjoying the runs. All that being said I will be returning in the coming season due to their excellent WiFi speed, making remote work possible.

Have been to this hidden gem of a resort on a number of occasions. Has something for everyone without the busyness of some of the larger resorts.

Plenty of places to explore across the mountain with a few terrain parks about and plenty of areas to try those first few jumps.

Where we stayed there is not a lot of nightlife. But we was there for the skiing. But nothing stopping you getting a great meal in one of the many restaurants or a few beers in one of the small bars.

Highly recommend as somewhere different to try out. Helps that its budget friendly.

We always fly to Turin and transfer over the border. Its cheaper and quicker that transfers from other French airports! Have fun!!

Serre Chevalier is a really wonderful and relatively unknown ski resort . Lots of Kms of piste spread out across 4 smaller connected resorts along the valley allows you to stay in one centre to explore , or stretch your legs and go for a much longer ski around the area. Very family friendly with lots of greens and blues across the area but for anyone looking for more challenging terrain there is plenty of that as well higher up or off piste.

I was up in the later months on the season and couldnt of asked for better conditions. Is this more my luck than the actual resort yes. But the way the resort handeld theses conditions was more than perfect. On one of the days the conditions were quite sever so got a free buss journey to the next village over where there gondolas were working which then opens up a lot more of the resort. Sadly I was not expecting the great conditions so I didnt bring my wider skis and I was skiing 50 cm of snow using 85 mm underfoot which is do able as I am quite light but it would have been wonderful to ride my fatter skis. But over all this ski resort is very good. It doesnt have a touristy feel to it which is good if you dont like that. Its a small town so you dont have to worry about getting to the lifts even though there is a free ski buss.

Great ski area, across multiple valleys, with a well connected lift system. Varied terrain both above and below the tree line. If you venture into the trees, its different to most areas in the alps as the forests are larch so thinner and more spaced out than elsewhere. In my experience the apres is low key, but I didnt really go looking.

We were there the very last week of the season. A wonderful experIence inspite of the reduced area due to being late season. Great groomed runs, runs designated as I groomed providing challenge and variety, great coaching from the ESF and beautiful after skiing walks. Friendly and helpful staff in all the resort.

Serre Chevalier is brilliant. Huge ski area across for main villages. The evening choice for restaurant is great if you have a car and can drive to the other villages.

Apres is quiet but that is because it is mainly a locals resort. Ski school is great with a few British ski guides and instructors.

Lifts can get busy in the morning but where doesnt?

Overall a brilliant ski resort and off the tourist track.

Serre Chevalier is a valley of connected villages and the original fortified town Briançon. I had happy memories of Christmas skiing at Villeneuve in the 90s and recently went back with my children for a family week with the UCPA run by Action Outdoors.
We had a great time, plenty of variety on greens, blues and the odd red and black run. The package included full board (plentiful buffet style meals) so we didn't really eat out except for snacks on piste. We had one snowy day and the rest of the week was sunny and hot.
The resort app is great and has a tracker which replays your day, giving 'badges' for achievements such as distance, altitude descent, time, colours of piste. We found it very French, fairly quiet (hardly any lift queues) and very relaxed. We only experienced the entertainment in our UCPA which was great for families.
Villeneuve has a nice local swimming pool, and Monetier-les-bains has an incredible natural hot springs pool complex, definitely worth the cost and short bus ride.
We would go again!

We stayed in Briancon which had great access to lifts and more affordable Accomodation than Serre Chevallier town but it was a bit dead during the evenings. There is a bus service in the valley between the towns so can ski down and go out in the busier Serre Chevallier town and get the bus back

Serre Chevalier is a good budget option with a decent amount of runs, park options and amazing views.

The snow was quite poor in March and some of the runs had debris and mud, but there were plenty of runs that were in decent condition. As a boarder there were a lot of moguls by the end of the day, which made it hard to get up speed.

Of all the resorts Ive visited, Serre Chevalier had the biggest lack of apres and nightlife. There were a few bars, restaurants and activities like bowling, but nothing too exciting.

I probably wouldnt visit again, but if I did then I would visit closer to Christmas time.
