Méribel Review Summary

Méribel attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, many travelling in mixed-ability groups or families. The resort is consistently praised for its central location in the Three Valleys, offering efficient access to Courchevel and Val Thorens via well-maintained lift infrastructure. Reviewers repeatedly mention the extensive ski area, good piste grooming, and lively après-ski scene, particularly at Rond Point and La Folie Douce. However, the high cost of accommodation, food, and drinks is a frequent complaint, with many noting that Méribel is significantly more expensive than resorts in Austria or Italy. Lift queues can be an issue during peak periods, particularly on lower lifts, though most report they move relatively quickly. A few snowboarders mention flat connecting runs as problematic.

Meribel is AWESOME. As resorts go, it’s one of the best. The ski area of the three valleys is huge, and access to Val Thorens means that skiing well into the end of march is a possibility. Meribel is the perfect resort for families and skiiers who like a challenge (or those who like a bit of apres…) and is very easily navigable. Highly recommend it as a resort, especially someone looking to learn how to ski as there are tons of ski school companies and the instructors are lovely.

Visited March with a group of friends and had the best time. Meribel is a very pretty town with good access to the slopes from the outer villages via the bus. The lifts were not crowded and ran smoothly. We went outside of the school holidays so it was naturally quieter on the slopes with less families. There is a good mix of runs and you can access all 3 valleys easily. The food and drink was very good, although slightly overpriced in some places, but overall high quality with lovely settings. Ski hire in the town was easy and of good quality. Will definitely go again.

I have visited a few seasons, the ski area is the thing that always brings me back, the quantity of runs and the various abilities means there is always something for everyone. It's a one stop shop for everything, Meribel is perfectly situated in the middle of the 3 valleys and perfectly accessible to everywhere.
