Méribel Review Summary

Méribel attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, many travelling in mixed-ability groups or families. The resort is consistently praised for its central location in the Three Valleys, offering efficient access to Courchevel and Val Thorens via well-maintained lift infrastructure. Reviewers repeatedly mention the extensive ski area, good piste grooming, and lively après-ski scene, particularly at Rond Point and La Folie Douce. However, the high cost of accommodation, food, and drinks is a frequent complaint, with many noting that Méribel is significantly more expensive than resorts in Austria or Italy. Lift queues can be an issue during peak periods, particularly on lower lifts, though most report they move relatively quickly. A few snowboarders mention flat connecting runs as problematic.

Absolutely loved the ski resort. I've skied in the 3 valleys many times and love that there's so many slops.
There is a fantastic buzz/ energy.

Also want to shout out the medical team as we had a serious incident and if it hadn't been for the medical Centre, we would've lost someone. They literally saved his life.

Meribel is a great area for all skiers. Easily located for those that want to hop over into Val T or Courhevel. Easy to keep everyone occupied with a run for everyone at every level. If you’re a beginner get the Rhodos bubble which has a lush wide green on it, perfect lunch spot (or hot choc for a break!), also has a couple of short blues on it to get some experience on a blue and just under the folie for apres!

Travelled with two young families (both children under 3). Great ski resort for young families with plenty to do. Close proximity of ski lifts to accommodation ideal for small children. Ski School area in Mottaret ideal for first time skiers. Would highly recommend.

A great resort if you want a wide range of pistes, as well as a wide range of non-snow based activities. Pistes close to the town are quite busy but your options for finding quieter slopes are almost endless. The amount of slopes available means there’s plenty for everyone’s needs and preferences. The town itself is large by ski resort standards and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Méribel is an amazing resort with great slopes, fun parks, piste side restaurants and awesome apres ski!
Chalet staff and bar staff are happy and helpful, which I think comes naturally in such a nice resort.
I’d give it a five out of five for places to visit and recommend a holiday there to anyone…kids, beginners, advanced, snowboarders, skiers, apres ski fun lovers and everyone else!

Beautiful resort, although slightly disjointed but great if you have options for private transport or chauffeur option with chalet booking.

I did a season there (2023/2024) and was the most fun I’ve ever had.

It’s an amazing resort with links to Courcheval and VT so there’s miles and miles of slopes, it’s friendly for beginners but has sections which are amazing for advanced levels.

It has the best park out of the 3 resorts located there aswell!

Food is amazing and lifts are efficient, only issue is it’s quite low down, so if it’s a warm day it does get slushy.

Located in the three valleys and as a result there are so many runs you can do; including a lot of different coloured runs, lots of blue and red runs. Great restaurants to eat out, all family friendly.

Skied 5 seasons there. Snow days were great and blue bird days even better. Could just go out for cruisey blues or go out to challenge some blacks and off piste on the powdery days. Great ski area with loads to do and lots of places to eat!!

We went towards the end of the 2024-2025 season. We had a wonderful time. Unfortunately most of the apres places were shut. But we had a great time at le Rond point. The snow was good but became very slushy early (expected for the end of the season) it was a perfect warm ski trip. There was some decent of piste (natural half pipe etc). Very easy to get to other resort areas for a change in slopes and scenery. Overall fabulous holiday. Perfect for a mixture of adults, children and people in their 20s.

Ideally placed in the centre of the three valleys. Lots of great runs and off piste. I enjoyed the pistes between trees. The lift system is efficient. The town is big enough to get some variety and go shopping and retains its alpine charm. The only downside is the cost of lift passes and drinks but that seems par for the course in bigger resorts.

Loved it, some great slopes and fun ski areas for the kids. Through forests and with sculptures and animals. Nice restaurants and good skiing for more experienced skiers too but felt a lot of seemed quite easy on slope.
