What Skiers Say About Méribel

Méribel attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, many travelling in mixed-ability groups or families. The resort is consistently praised for its central location in the Three Valleys, offering efficient access to Courchevel and Val Thorens via well-maintained lift infrastructure. Reviewers repeatedly mention the extensive ski area, good piste grooming, and lively après-ski scene, particularly at Rond Point and La Folie Douce. However, the high cost of accommodation, food, and drinks is a frequent complaint, with many noting that Méribel is significantly more expensive than resorts in Austria or Italy. Lift queues can be an issue during peak periods, particularly on lower lifts, though most report they move relatively quickly. A few snowboarders mention flat connecting runs as problematic.

Had an Epic time here, first time back after 10 years. The slopes were wide, the crowds were small, the beer tasted good. Apres was lively, my legs were tired but I felt more energy then ever.

There was some queuing for smaller lifts, gondola was normally pretty efficient. One time one of the chair lifts was stopped early leaving us stranded, however they started it back up to help us get back up. Very good connections to other resorts this was very fun to do during the day to try new food. Food was pretty expensive on slopes in my opinion. Were able to ski mostly to our chalet but it was quite hard to remember where to turn off to do this. Icy bits down near the chalets so was very crowded with people falling over when on the way back home for the day. Pints were not too bad price wise. Lovely little mini village of restaurants with some really good ones but they are small so need to book. Value for money maybe I expected a bit more for how much it costs.

Brilliant spring conditions. Fantastic apres ski at the Rond Point. The best access to the Three Valleys of all the resorts in the Three Valleys. Empty slopes!

Awesome place. The options of skiing between all the 3 valleys are up there in the best in the world. It has everything from 1200m to 3400m so even when snow is scarce further down there is plenty on top. The apre nightlife is good, Rond Point being the main on the slopes bar with live music every day from 4-8, and the Taverna & the Pub are great for the evenings and has a nightclub Sully’s too.

Perfectly located in the middle of Courchevel and VT resorts which allows easy and more exploration across the 3 valleys. Aka more skiing, restaurants and more fun!

So many options available with the 3 valleys pass. Still so many options even with the Meribel pass only. You can ski both sides of the valley to either chase or avoid the sunlight and the variety of lifts and runs is so much fun.
The snow parks are well maintained and clearly ranked for ability, as are the main groomers with lots of signposts to keep you on track.
Amazing apres ski either on the mountains or down in the villages.
It’s just such a vibe being in Meribel for a week so I will definitely be going back.

Hit the slopes early to avoid long queues in the morning. Ski until last light for emptier slopes. Great way to visit 3 valleys as you are in the middle and can get to corcheval and Val thorens easily just check the weather as we almost got stuck in VT as they started closing lifts as the weather got worse, we were on the last cable car to the top of the mountain to be able to drop back down into Meribel! Meribel is perfect for intermediate skiers lots of blue runs, plenty of reds, but enough of challenging blacks and easy greens too.

Had an incredible week of skiing following a dump of 50cm of snow the day of our arrival! The 3 valleys ski area is absurdly massive and Meribel is placed really centrally meaning it is easy to explore the whole area through the week. It was not very busy on the pistes with minimal que times for lifts. There were great options for both on and off piste but the avalanche risk was quite high at the time of our visit. There are also great apres options (folie and rond point in Meribel, folie and bar 360 in VT) and good food options. Would highly recommend a visit!!

Vast ski area which meant we had new runs every day over a week. Super quiet in the week leading up for Christmas. Our first time in the 3 valleys and Méribel was the perfect location to ski both sides into Courchevel and val Thorens. Food and drink very expensive, which I would expect but even more so than tignes and val d’isere! Meribel town was much smaller than we expected too with less options for restaurants than we had expected. Overall an amazing week with good snow!

Love the 3 valleys and being in meribel allows best access to all. Apres is great and better value than Courchevel, skiing is less busy than VT. Great choice to be well placed at the heart of the 3 valleys.

Travelled to Méribel with a group of 20 for a 40th birthday.
Flew to Geneva and was roughly 2.5 hour transfer.
We stayed at the le savoy meribel in the heart of the village. Great location, very clean and accessible with a little pizza place right next door.

We hired our ski equipment from right across the road. Hotel provided shuttles down to the ski village or you could take the ski path down or walk.

Nightlife is great we visited jacks/ le pub/ bagotelle and la folie Douce

Restaurants - fi fi ( a very nice Italian)
L’igloo - great for cheese fondu
La folie Douce - overpriced (average food) all about the atmosphere

Accra via ski lifts excellent and never a long wait at busy periods

Just the best ski area there is! Part of the 3 vallées so there is always somewhere in the sun, with good snow etc. Easy to get around and fantastic skiing. Expensive but tbh worth it compared to other, cheaper resorts.

Great resort with some great runs. Lifts are super quick so even when it's busy it usually doesn't take too long to get on. Best location to ski from to get around the three valleys. Everything is available in the resort and easy to get to. The buses make it really easy to get around also and the run until fairly late in the evening.
