What Skiers Say About Les Menuires

Les Menuires is primarily reviewed by intermediate and advanced skiers who value its central position in the Three Valleys system, allowing easy access to Méribel, Val Thorens, and Courchevel. Most users highlight the extensive skiing options, efficient lift system, and significantly lower accommodation costs compared to neighbouring resorts. The resort is consistently described as family-friendly with good ski schools, though many note the purpose-built architecture lacks charm and the après-ski scene is quieter than Val Thorens or Méribel. Several reviewers mention busy pistes during peak periods, particularly school holidays, and crowded runs at the base of the resort.

Love this resort - get a Three Valley pass and you can ski all the way to Courchevel, through Meribel too, great access to a lot of runs and ski areas, from Cime Caron and Col de Rosael all the way over to Signal. Some affordable accommodation options and with easy access to Val Thorens for even more dining options and bars. There is a blue slope from Val Thorens to Les Menuires so that you can apres ski in La Folie Douche. Very friendly people, approachable staff and very family friendly. A lot of beginners. Only negative point would be the three slopes coming into Les Menuires, they can get very busy and when icy, can be quite dangerous during peak hours.

A great resort for all skiers with an excellent ESF school catering for all levels, abundant private tutors for smaller groups and more slopes that you could ever ski! Les Menuires is less expensive than some neighbouring resorts yet they can be easily reached via the extensive Trois Vallees lift system so you can explore a different place every day.
Accommodation is varied with chalets, hotels, hostels and self catering apartments all available near the slopes with a great village centre open til late. Apres ski locally and on the slopes is great fun and surprisingly cheap compared to some other resorts.
Ski and board runs cater for all abilities with options of powder and moguls too. There's snow parks and toboggan runs for practicing skills or just fun with the family and yet with so much to do, Les Menuires always seems to be compact and friendly. It's always my first choice when looking for a French ski holiday.

Bloody Brilliant location! Snow this week was a little sketchy due to a massive dump of snow, and the team worked amazingly to keep everyone safe. 3 valleys has got to be one of my new favourite places. Lifts are good, although the tops of runs can get very crowded , especially during sub-optimal weather when routes are closed.

Good resort with good access to the three valleys, especially Méribel and its own valley. I really enjoyed la masse and orelle. Didn’t like the courchevel valley as much but still very enjoyable

Fantastic resort, just below Val Thorens. You can access the whole 4 valleys from Les Menuires. It’s huge, the food of a night time is really really good. Locals very very friendly. Strongly recommend

Resort is quite big but a bit soulless. Very very busy in high season and when main lift from village broke down there were huge queues at other lifts. Huge amounts of junior ski school kids hogging the lifts around the village. Link to Val Thorens always busy and lumpy but once there great pistes and snow. We stayed in the Rebery part of the resort at Hors Blanc Hotel which is great for ski in/out. In Rebery there is a nice slope side bar/restaurant but very steep for walking around in ski boots! If you are planning on skiing the whole of the 3 Valleys I wouldn't recommend Les Meniures as a base as its a bit on the edge and snow at resort level not always great.

We visited when there had been little snowfall but slopes were still groomed daily. Some slopes were challenging due to thin snow cover and a few routes shut all together. Brilliant resort for blue/red slopes!! All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and there’s a real community feel around, great atmosphere! Owing to the fact you have 3 valleys to choose routes on there’s plenty to do every day, we skied for 6 days and still missed loads so will need to come back again

Les Menuires is a charming little resort which gives you access to the 3 valleys for less money than staying in one of the main 3. As experienced skiers we found areas that were quieter and also were able to ski across the valleys in a morning and back again (whilst our kids were in ski school) I did feel that there aren't many green slopes near the bottom which would be suitable to take kids on after ski school as a family, it could do with some runs like Belcotte in Courcheval. Overall its a lovely resort with other amenities to entertain tired little people in the afternoon. We found some nice reasonably priced places to eat and drink.

Great ski-school and what a nice, friendly and accomodating resort this is. I would definitely recommend this resort for family skiing as it has a wonderful leisure centre near by for evening entertainment.

We went for a short break before Christmas very early in the season. There wasn’t a huge amount of natural snow but good coverage from the snow cannons. Les menuires was a good base but you had a lot of lift hopping to get over to Méribel or courchevel. Although it’s a large resort it didn’t feel it, after about 4 days I felt like I’d covered all of the ground and was repeating what I’d already done. All in all a nice play to stay but not my favourite for variety

Good for beginners and all levels and can get to anywhere from here super easy and piste is usually so much better than other resorts as it’s slightly less busy than the rest of the three valleys

Had an amazing time, it is extremely busy here and the skiers are very pushy but there are so many slopes to choose from and the staff are really helpful. Loads of shops in the centre of town selling ski gear.

First week of the season - only had a pass for Les Menuires but more pistes/lifts were open than advertised.

There was a little rave on opening night and the resort felt busy but the pistes and lifts were so quiet!

Amazing snow dump right before we arrived and amazing weather while we were there. Higher powder was amazing. Slushy slopes lower down particularly in the afternoon.

Excellent resort - would return with the full 3 valleys pass!
