What Skiers Say About Les Menuires

Les Menuires is primarily reviewed by intermediate and advanced skiers who value its central position in the Three Valleys system, allowing easy access to Méribel, Val Thorens, and Courchevel. Most users highlight the extensive skiing options, efficient lift system, and significantly lower accommodation costs compared to neighbouring resorts. The resort is consistently described as family-friendly with good ski schools, though many note the purpose-built architecture lacks charm and the après-ski scene is quieter than Val Thorens or Méribel. Several reviewers mention busy pistes during peak periods, particularly school holidays, and crowded runs at the base of the resort.

Many of the green runs were narrow and followed on from blues and reds leading to high and fast traffic, not ideal for beginners or snowboarding. Blue runs were generally alot better for boarding.

Les Menuires is right in the middle of the Trois Vallées, so is the perfect spot to easily get to any of the resorts. One lift can take you high enough to ski to pretty much anywhere in the entire ski area. It’s not as lively as the other resorts, but is perfect for a family ski trip. We were there in April, and had a metre of powder snow fall during our trip! Before that, it was still fine, as it’s such a high resort. We’ve also been several times in January, and it’s always amazing. There is a huge variety of runs l that cater to every ability level, particularly loads of blue cruisers. We’ve never queued for more than 5 minutes, even for the first lifts.

We had passes to the 3 valleys and loved all of the runs, though we did only stick to blues mostly, Jerusalem was easily the best run across the 3 valleys. Would also definitely recommend a ski in, ski out type of accommodation.

Wonderful magical place, I would recommend it to everyone! I had the best time 2 years in a row! It is hard to get there, and it can last over 10h, however it is so worth it!

Les Menuires still retains a very French feel and a lot of the accommodation is in high rise blocks.
It is in the middle of its particular valley, giving good acces to neighbouring ski resorts.
It tends to be cheaper than its popular neighbour Val Thorens, but accommodation can be booked out during French holidays, especially in February.
There are many apartments, some hotels and chalets.
There are a good variety of bars and restaurants, with a Folie Douce up at Val Thorens, which can be reached by skiing.
The resort has a very family feel to it.
The skiing is good for beginners and intermediates, with more challenging runs up at Val Thorens. Val Thorens also has the height to virtual guarantee skiing.
Further down the valley is St Martin de Belleville which is a more traditional village, growing in popularity - it can be reached either by skiing or bus
Further skiing is available in Les Trois Valleys, a vast network, linking into Meribel and Courchevel valleys. There are a huge number of piste options and difficulties, not to mention off-piste and even couloir skiing, some of which can be easily accessed from the piste.

It is nestled between Meribel and Val Thorens. A quite ski village within the 3 valleys. Brilliant for families who are staying in kitchen apartment with good selection of convenience stores. However limited restaurant options that is to our taste.

Les Menuires is great place to kick off your morning to anywhere. Many ski-in/ski-out accommodation with fair prices. Just bring many clothes as washing and drying options are limited depending on your accommodation.

Loved the place! Sooo much variety of slopes. Some of them are ridiculously long. Very pretty views with epic view points. Food was delicious, didn’t find there was too much choice. Felt like it was either take out or more expensive restaurants, not much in the middle. Definitely would go back though. Not much in terms of night life but we weren’t bothered by that and it’s easy to get to Val Thoren for that if it’s what you’re looking for.

I loved staying in Les Menuires with the ability for the 3 valleys ski pass to ski to different resorts and areas of the piste!! Makes a change from being in only one resort/area but with a really good location base. Our accom was ski in ski out which was ideal and the lifts were easy to get to to go to other parts of the 3 valleys. Would recommend Les menuires

I lived here for 5 months working a ski szn. Plenty of slopes to explore with Lovely connections to sister resorts such as Meribel, courchavel, and Val Thornes. Nice town with plenty of shops and restaurants to try. There’s also a free shuttle bus system around the area! Nice mix of runs ranging from blues and greens to reds and blacks. Overall had a positive and fun 5 months staying here!!

Great resort, links really well to the 3 Valleys.
Very busy over New Year (to be expected), no fresh snow so slopes were very icy, so little treacherous in places. Lots of slopes and lots of variety.
New Year entertainment was great, nice shopping centre, and enough restaurants and bars to keep yourself entertained.
Would go back.

It’s a nice ski area, with access to the 3 valleys a major benefit, but fewer and tamer apres ski options compared to say Val Thorens
