What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Great place for beginners and advanced. Plenty of blues and greens for beginners. Advanced can get a pass that also covers Le Plagne, so can take advantage of entire area. Lifts are efficient. Ski school has great options and is reasonably priced. Plenty of places to eat and drink.

Really fun resort with miles and miles of runs to play on. High up so almost guaranteed snow. Les arcs 1800 has a good range of bars and restaurants within easy walking/ staggering distance. If you still get bored you can upgrade your ski pass to give you access to la plagne too.

The skiing at this resort has always been phenomenal- with great on-piest and off-piest runs for both the newest beginners and professionals. As well as having great skiing, the nightlife and bars as such are buzzing and a perfect vibe to end a ski day or at lunch. Arc 1950 is such a beautiful town- one that you can ski through (although it is quite expensive) and is a treat for all people. 10/10 resort with excellent accommodation and other such things.

Les Arcs is a great resort, especially with the Paradiski upgrade with which you can head across to La Plagne. Loads of runs, easily-accessible off-piste, and a bunch of other activities such as sledding. Snowpark is a bit small. Apres is good, at the Folie at least - the other bars we found shut quite early. Takeaway food is reasonably priced, and there's some good restaraunts to be found too.

The linked areas of Les Arcs provide a wide and varied range of skiiing for all levels and with the lowest main area up at 1600 metres, the area is fairly snow sure. By buying the appropriate pass you can also take the huge cable car across to La Plagne. However, with lift passes already expensive, I would think hard about whether you need those extra Kms of piste and if you will realistically have time to get full use from the whole area pass; Perhaps if you are away for 2 weeks it would be worth it.

The accomodation in Arc 1600, 1800 and 2000 is functional rather than pretty, but if you want a more authentic alpine experience you could stay down in Bourg and take the rapid Funicular up each day which is included in your lift pass.

On our stays in Arc 1650 we found the choice of places to eat out farily limited, but the supermarkets are good for stocking up for 'home' cooking.

There are plenty of mountain restaurants with lots of choice but like all resorts they can be expensive.

Overall Les Arcs is a great resort for beginners and competent skiers who want to cruise big pistes or fine tune their technique.

Wonderful ski resort with different altitude.

I prefer Arc 2000 which is the highest resort, direct access to the slopes and 300km of skiing with the Paradiski area.

In Les Arcs, you can ski from the glaciers to the trees in one run.

Very festive with Folie Douce and O Chaud bar in Arc 1950.

Great savoyard restaurants, especially Le Savoy in Arc 2000 or Les Chalets de l'Arc on the ski area.

Easy access by train to Bourg Saint Maurice and then funicular.

A great resort for those who love various terrains!
From the pine forests of Villaroger and Arc 1600 to the mountain peaks of Aiguille Rouge and Arc 2000 - every rider can find a place of their dreams.
It's especially fun with the weather, wind and snow condition changes - and I haven't even mentioned the opportunity to traverse the valley and visit the neighbor station - La Plagne!

The network of ski lifts is very well organized and maintained, and it's really easy to use even if you decide to stay below, in Bourg Saint Maurice and use a funicular to go up the resort every day. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants at every station, they are pricy, but not extremely expensive (like in 3 valleys, for example).

Overall - definitely worth your money!
