What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Great resort for all levels, plenty of blues and reds to cruise and for more advanced there are some good off piste slopes around the Grand Col area recommend the Aiguille Rounge run first thing in the morning for over 2000 ft of descent on empty slopes.

Bourg-saint-Maurice is also worth a visit in the evening via the funicular railway (less than 10 mins) for restaurants and bars in the evening if you want to get away from the mountain villages.

I first visited Les Arcs in 2017 and fell in love with the village lifestyle and hospitality of the start and owners of the restaurant minotors that we bought an apartment in 1600.
Johanne and his staff at 2000 of go to watering and feeding hole 2nd to none Dodos bar in 1600 and the backers ladies always smiling . La follie Deuce 1800 being our golf club in the summer and peisey Vallandry what an awesome experience of ski resorts and hospitality
My home away from home. Coming from a boy born on the beaches of Grenada, grew up in London and the French alps as my winter holiday home.
Long may it last.
Thank you Les Arcs for the experience of a lifetime.

A great resort for groups of varying ability skiers. Very good resort for familys but also have a thriving night life with a selection of high end to budget accommodation. Eating out is in keeping with the region with not many vegetarian and vegan (allergen friendly) restaurants high up on the mountains you have more success in the valleys

Some of the longest runs in Europe with terrain for all abilities. Folie Douce up from plein peisey is a great place to stop for a spot of apres and a bite to eat and the cable car over to la plagne really opens up the ski area for people wanting more of a challenge

Stayed in Arc 2000 and it was basically ski in ski out with no cars so it was a great resort.

Has everything you need to eat drink and shop etc. Apres not so much in 2000 but down at 1800 there is a lot more going on.

There are free buses that connect all the Arc resorts.

The ski area is great and varied and is also linked to La Plagne for a massive variety.

Would return.

One of the best, Apres I have ever been to such an incredible vibe. Everybody is so friendly. The skiing quality is very good and you see a lot of funky outfits on the slopes. Also very family friendly but extremely busy. Its not easy to find quiet slopes, food options are unlimited, which is amazing. The nightlife is a really good. Plenty to do an explore while not skiing.
Pricey but not ridiculously expensive in comparison to other results so I would definitely recommend

Great resort for families and expert skiers a like. Amazing bowl skiing with tonnes of off-piste available up above Les Arcs 2000. Tonnes of moguls around as well. Apres Partiers head to 1800. Lots of great restaurants - best is La Vache Rouge at LA 1950 or La Folie Douce at 1800. Have a trip over to La Plagne for more skiing if you need it.

Great resort for beginner/ intermediate with lots of pretty tree runs that take you between higher grade runs. Resort villages are quite spread out but ditch many ski in ski out options.

Stayed in Arc 1800 with all inclusive food and drinks which helped to keep the trip good value for money. Huge ski area with access to la plange also and great piste conditions. Great snow and powder at altitude getting slushy at lower level due to sunny weather. All in all a great trip at a great resort, would highly recommend to all skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Solid resort with lovely villages containing good cafes, restaurants and bars. High enough for consistent snow and groomed often. Only negative is that half of the resort leads down to one run and this run can get very busy if you are not willing to take some off piste routes

Been twice to Les Arcs now. Stayed in 2000 last year and this year 1800 which is we found better as move lively but also better location to get around the mountain. High resort ensures good snow and lifts well run. Enough challenges for all and vast area when you get a ski pass that allows you to head over la Plagne. The first resort I would go back to each year

Overall, Les Arcs is a great resort with lots of different options for skiers with 300km of runs you can't get bored. The are ski scene is really good here, however there isn't much variation in terms of bar genre, couloir tignes is a very cozy bar and I would ighly recommend the food and drinks there. I'd strongly recommend to anyone at any ski/board ability as there are lots of run variation and a good number of instructors out at any one time.

10/10 will go again

Les Arcs is a large resort with a good mix of pistes for all levels of skiing. The ski schools are very good and there are plenty of instructors.

Being in the Alps it is icier than North America so those more used to powder might find skiing hard work. Despite that the pistes are beautifully groomed and well marked.

The rescue teams are brilliant, well equipted, knowledgeable and motivated. Food is easily accessible both on and off the pistes. Accommodation is also varied from chalets to hotels to apartments. Each area Arcs 1600, 1800, 1950, 2000 & Peisey Vallandry are unique in character.

For those who do not ski there is also plenty to do. Cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, dog sledding are among the things on offer. It's a well rounded resort with year round activities.
