What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Huge resort with mostly blues and reds with some blacks (good mix of easy/intermediate blues), ski in/out practically at any location in the resort. Beautiful scenery, bars/restaurants along most runs, nice people and good food. Well groomed runs, great lift efficiency

We stayed at Belle Plagne, our accommodation was right next to the piste, which allowed us to get to away early. The resort had a good level of Bars & shops with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The whole area was nicely connected and getting over to Les Arcs was so easy. The amount of skiing was next level, so much to explore. Definitely going back!

Early morning runs are the best part of the la plagne area. The carving opportunities on fairly empty runs which have been perfectly groomed are amazing. Some runs are just snowed over roads in areas tho!

Such a great resort with a plethora of interesting runs, cute lunch spots, great bars, and beautiful views. There are so many different areas to explore that I never found myself getting bored going down the same pistes over and over again. It’s a great resort for when travelling with a group of different ski abilities too, as there were options to travel down the mountain via blue, red or black that led to near enough the same place at the bottom.

La Plagne is a brilliant family friendly resort that provides a range of styles of skiing. It is quiet with low queue times. The town is lacking on the apres ski aspect but if you are looking gor a nice chill ski holiday La Plagne is the perfect option. We stayed in Champagny-en-Vanoise which was lovely. Would recomend this resort to any ability of skier.

It was nice week. Slopes and skiing was nice. Accommodation was on the slopes directly. The lifts were not so busy. But the slopes were not always fully groomed, but was challenging. Otherwise, it was a nice resort with lots of variety of slopes.

The trip to la plagne was amazing with a good amount of snow before the blizzard hit in. Our trip was to montalbert which had very easy access into la plagne centre and beyond. The snow was strong and well groomed for great ski conditions

We had a great holiday as a family of 4 staying in plagne village. Even though it hadn’t snowed in a month the pistes were all very well kept and when it snowed in the last 2 days it was very organised and most lifts were still open.

Lots of ski area to work with, we were on the champagny side. Hadn't snowed for a while so it was pretty icy, most of the black runs were closed.

Majority of the slopes are above the tree line

Decent spot, especially for intermediates and families. newRoche de Mio gondola. It has finally fixed the 40-year "bottleneck" at Bellecôte, cuts the trip to the summit to just 9 minutes.
The snow reliability is a good; a lot of the area above 2,000m, even the unseasonably warm spells haven't ruined the high runs.

Absolutely loved La Plagne, great slopes. Very well groomed, although by lunchtime the moguls were present which became quite challenging for my children.
Not many bars found on the slopes but easy to access refreshments at the villages which most were ski in and out which was spot on. Great scenery and a great atmosphere too. Perfect for family skiing holidays.

Stayed in a ski/ski out chalet in La Plagne 1950. Small satellite resort that everything you need.
The snow was excellent…a bit too much as it snowed / powder for 3 days! The resort was surprisingly busy particularly in and around Plagne Centre. However pistes down through the trees to the lower resorts were always quiet and were well groomed!
A great purpose built resort that lacks the “soul”and picturesque nature of Méribel.

After a rock fall onto the main N road into Moutiers we managed to catch our flight home from Geneva after booking train tickets from Brides Les Bains and getting a lift from friends in their camper van! Our transfer bus was stuck in a 40km jam!

I've been to La Plagne twice and both times were spectacular. First was with friends and we spent a lot of evenings in the Le Monica's bar and bumboarding down the piste. And secondly was with my fiance for his first ski trip. The range of pistes was exceptional and I've had zero complaints. Beautiful place to visit and so much to do! The Luge run at the Colorado run is a blast, if not just a little scary.
