What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

I went to La Plagne last week with a group of 27 friends and we stayed in an apartment perfectly located by the chair lift up the mountain and a bar called La Mine which I highly recommend, we went every night and they have a live band Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The Apres bar in La Plagne centre, La Bergerie was also great fun which started at 2.30 pm. Overall I had the best time!

Great resort. Versatile, snow sure and not overpriced. The ski area links together seamlessly, with good choices of restaurants and bars at the side of the slope. I’ve been many times and would recommend.

Lovely resort was quite hard for a full beginner like myself, there was only a handful of slopes I could do but it’s a great place to build confidence

La Plagne and the whole Paradaski area is by far the resort ski area I have ever skied. It has so much to offer for every level for skier or snowboarder. The lift options, variable terrain, on and off piste is to die far. Absolute heaven. So many restaurants and apres options with alot of experiences throughout like husky rides and tubing or just a fun old fashioned bum board.

Make sure you take lessons or send a competent skier/boarder down slopes first. Some slopes have areas which are not for beginners despite being classed as easy blues.

Lovely resort, ideal for young families & keen skiers. Has a few good spots for apres but lacks pubs/bar for the evening! Was a bit patchy/iced on lower slopes but has a vast ski area so plenty of good slopes for everyone!

La Plagne has great runs for skiers, even some cool runs like a disco mirrored tunnel. There isn’t much options for nightlife, but what there is was good. Overall would recommend for a less party orientated ski holiday.

I have visited La Plagne with a group of friends on four occasions now and it has never let us down. With a good variety of runs and the ability to ski over to Les Arcs for the day, La Plagne is a must for skiers of any ability. You can very quickly familiarise yourself with the resort which enables you to really make the most of your time on the pistes. A trip up the gondola is an absolute must on a clear day. The apres is great, especially La Bergerie. Highly recommend!

La plagne is a large resort with a massive number of places to stay. The different villages have different vibes. We stayed in Plagne 1800 and it was very convenient for the slopes, with a low key night life with some good sports bars with live music. The snow was old and hard whilst we were there. I recommend going over to Les Arcs for the day for a change of scene during the week. It was quite busy in the last week of January/ early February, so a would avoid half term school hols.

Went as a group of 10 men in a catered chalet.
All groomed runs were great in the morning, but as it got busier they got churned up and a bit mogulled towards the end of the day. Some great tree lined runs lower down the resort which were good fun.
Definitely worth taking the vanoise over to les arcs for some more wide open groomers.
Would say that the slope ratings here are a bit off and that a few of the blues especially off the top lift are more like reds verging on blacks for steepness

Great mountain, great memories, snow could be better. I visited with my university and though that it was amazing, the after ski party was great, however at night time I though the bars and clubs weren’t the best.

The ski lifts are actually relatively efficient despite it being busy and crowded, as I went in April, the snow was not as fresh and moguls formed towards the end of the day however in the morning the slopes are great! What was good for me and my friends was that there are slopes of all types to accommodate for beginners as we had brought someone who had never skied before but also had slopes for more advanced skiers like myself that were challenging. But overall, my favourite thing about la Plagne is the apres ski. La Bergerie is a great bar in the middle of the slopes that has great music and DJs as well as a good range of drinks. I can’t wait to go back and get up and dance on those tables again!

Stayed in les Balcons, half board. Food was great and transfer could get right to the front. Ski set to collect skis was also right next door which was super handy. This resort has loads of blues so really good for beginners.

Good report, well connevted with a very large ski zone. Can connect over to les arc too. Its high and they had snow generstion going going lots meaning the lack of fall fall esely season didnt matter too much with most runs still open and plenty to do.

We did an all inclusive package with a ski in ski out catered chalet in la plagne. The chalet was great, snow conditions were brilliant and the resort offers a great mix of groomed runs for all abilities. The lift pass enables access to neighbouring resorts which are easily accessible in a day
