What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Busy but super ski area. Great for all abilities. Oxygen ski school recommended. Good cabin lift between 1800/centre for staying inside if weather is bad.

This was my first ever ski holiday and it is the best place to start, there is something for everyone. If you decide you don’t want to ski or snowboard there are plenty of activities which aren’t too far away, like paragliding, abseiling, ice skating, bob sleigh and much more. It is a family friendly resort also and the ski school instructors were the best

We had a fantastic time in La Plagne. Was the first time going to this resort. Good varied level of slopes. Blue slopes tended to be busiest. Great fun at one of the bars up on slopes with live music.

Staircase at Montalbert (La Plagne). Very intimate and friendly resort with good range of bars and restaurants. Good Intersport shop and ski instructors. Going back this new year as great beginner routes around restaurant 360. Superb location and highly recommended.

Stayed in Amie 2000 in January 2025. Great ski in/out location and wellness facilities for apres ski.
Paradiski piste area is huge and offers something for everyone at all abilities. Some lift queues were busy at times but not long delays and the pistes are so large that they're not busy. Bar and club options were limited, but good choice for food. Highly recommend for your next trip.

Great resort, transfer from Geneva is quite long but worth it when you get to resort. This is our 5th or 6th season in La Plagne.

A bit industrial of an ski resort but perfect for families, and especially us oldies who just want miles and miles of reds and blues to ski all day long. The Vanoise express opens up even more, so the hope is always to go home exhausted, needing another holiday.

Great all round resort. The pistes are wide and varied so you can relax and find a tempo that you and the group enjoy. For those who are more advanced, you can buy a pass that can take you through forest to Les arcs where you have even more pistes and an airbag for those brave enough to do some tricks.

La Plagne has a great expanse of slopes with difficulty to meet all needs. Connected to Les Arcs by the Vanoise Express cable car it provides a cast expanse of ski terrain enough to satisfy even the most energetic of skiers/boarders.

We went in a large group with adults and kids right at the start of the season. Almost every person we interacted with was so lovely. Sport 2000 passion 73 shop in montalbert was amazing, very cheap and great up to date equipment. Slopes were very quiet in a lot of places, great lift system and good variety of slopes. Not the most difficult a lot more blues and fair amount of reds, but some decent off piste and well designed trails.

I loved La plagne it was great definitely great for families, good ski schools as well definitely a good range of pistes. There are some quieter runs down to montalbert and montchavin. I did do a ski season there so feel qualified to rate it. Good ski park, and some gnarly off-posting too.

Great family resort. Lots of runs for intermediate skiers and below. Not too many black runs or moguls. Some safe powder although best to go off piste with a qualified guide.
Quietest slopes can be found towards champagny over the back of grande rochette.
If visiting for the first time a local lift pass will give you plenty of skiing areas.

Great resort, stayed close to the main lift up where we had a great time. The snow was good and ploughed where it needed to be. Lots of different runs suitable for all experiences. Lots of options for food and drink. And lots of options to go to other resorts easily.

We had a really good time in La Plagne. We stayed in La Plagne 1800 but the lifts and ski shuttle bus meant we had hundreds of KM piste to explore. The parks and photo opportunities were great too and many memories were made!

Stayed in Les Coches, which is a lovely small ski village near the Vanoise Express, a great spot for making the most of both La Plange and Les Arcs areas. Lovely areas of long off piste and tree runs with the snowpack moved over to this side of the La Plange area as well. It’s also home to La Poste which is one of the best piste side restaurants!
