La Clusaz isn't a huge commercial resort, it's a friendly farming town with an amazing ski area. With lots of beginner friendly pistes through to some incredible freeriding, the skiing is excellent, and you can buy the Aravis pass to ski the neighbouring lovely Le Grand Bornand too, a short bus ride away. La Clusaz has been a family favourite for years, both with myself as a skier and my mother as a hiker and non-skier. Home to a museum of skiing and with a fab calendar of events such as full moon skiing, a good choice of activities outside of skiing including excellent hiking pistes, a gorgeous leisure centre with outdoor pool, and a range of eating options along with an excellent boulangerie and supermarché for self catering, we absolutely love it!

Great little resort catering for all abilities. Its possible to ski the full resort map In around three days and only one hour from Geneva this makes it a great place for a shorter trip or long weekend.

My go to resort, the beauty of the area is simply breathtaking with tree lined runs and stunning views across the Alps to Mont Blanc (weather permitting). There is something for everyone here from a great leaning zone with lots of green/blue short pistes to gnarly hardcore off piste section with red runs intersecting it to allow easy access. The only downside is that it's not desperately easy to navigate around and requires some serious studying of the piste map / use of traversing pistes to get properly around. From my perspective it has the best blue run I've ever encountered running down from the lift to the town through gorgeous wide tree lined piste.

Had a great ski in ski out apartment so was very convenient for the whole family. Runs were nice and long and snow sure. lifts were efficient apres ski was good with a good range of bars and restaurants and the village itself was quite pretty would certainly recommend it for a family and intermediate skiing. I didn't really take advantage of a lot of the off-piste but I gather that la Clusaz is particularly well known for that. Overall very enjoyable and I would ski there again.

La Clusaz is a lovely little resort if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy the ambience of an alpine town. Only 1 hours drive from Geneva airport it has a decent area to explore even though the resort is quite low and the runs back to the town are not always accessible. There are some good runs for all abilities the higher you go and even if La Clusaz doesnt have much snow you can try Le Grand Bornard which is an option about 15 minutes away on the ski bus. We actually skied across from La Clusaz which is doable through a forest area which takes you to the bottom lift of LGB. Ive been twice to this resort now. Once in 1998 and then again in 2024. It has grown a lot in that time but still retains the character and charm. There are plenty of friendly ski hire shops, we chose the Intersport one near the main cabin lift which worked really well. They stored our equipment after each day so we didnt have to lug them back to the accommodation. The 6 of us stayed in a lovely airbnb that was only 2 minutes from the town centre and 5 minutes from the main ski lift. If youre looking for a short break skiing it is ideal as its not far from Geneva and the drive there is very easy.

La Clusaz is a home from home. Friendly, quiet during the week and a wide variety of skiing from gentle beginner slopes on Beauregard to exacting off piste in the La Balme Area. Which being North facing retains good snow even if there is not much elsewhere. Spreading your wings a little there is some great touring and hidden off-piste gems. Within an hour or so from Geneva airport it is the ideal resort for a short weekend ski trip from the UK. And if you can ski all it has to offer in a few days you can use the bus service to get to Le Grand Bornand for some variety. If you have a car then nipping over the Aravis pass will get you to La Giettaz which is your entrance to the Portes de Mont Blanc Ski Area and Megeve. See you there in 25!!

I've been skiing and boarding in la clusaz for 35 years and it's a hidden gem not usually on the radar for the British skier.not many holiday operators list the resort and catered chalets have all but disappeared. Which does mean it a very french resort with a low key apres ski mainly focus on eating out in the many restaurants in the village,Candide Thovex has a bar in the town centre popular with the younger crowd. Easily accessible from Geneva airport, about 1hr away, regular bus service from aravis transfers, or an 8 hrs drive from calais, Spread over 5 mountains with 270 km of runs there is something for everyone, the main area is Balme,at over 2000m is snow sure all season,a good range of red and black runs but is better know for it's incredible varied off piste, L etale, beauregad, croix fry, merdassier, Aiguille, make up the rest of the resort with a good range of reds ,blues and greens. The village is fairly low at 1100m but extensive snow making keeps the the links open late in the season, Good choice of ski shops and the usual ESF ski school and a private school are available and easily accessible from the centre of the village. Blessed with some of the best restaurants in the alps in the village and on the mountain ,spoilt for choice from snack bars,Savoyard restaurants and Michelin star establishments. I can't rate this resort highly enough having worked seasons here and still visit several times a year,we don't want to shout to loud about how good we are as it is a hidden gem
