Courchevel Review Summary

Courchevel attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting its connection to the Three Valleys as a major draw. Intermediate skiers dominate the reviews and consistently praise the well-groomed pistes, wide runs, and efficient lift system. Off-piste and tree runs are noted by advanced riders, while beginners appreciate the nursery slopes and ease of progression. The resort's high cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback, with reviewers citing expensive lift passes, food, drink, and accommodation. Après-ski options are well-regarded, though prices vary significantly between locations. Some reviewers mention crowding, particularly with inexperienced skiers, and a few note issues with lower-altitude snow cover later in the season.

A brilliant resort with extensive runs across a range of abilities. The size of the valley and the easy links to others makes for free slopes with little to no congestion. Away from the slopes there is plentiful entertainment from restaurants to bars and live music. It is an expensive location but the skiing justifies it

I stayed in courchavel 1850 the resort is great for ski/board in and out and have great chalets and hotels. The resort allows for you to ski from top to bottom at 1550 with access to the 3 valleys giving you over 600km of skiing. If you are looking for luxury with great skiing/boarding this is an amazing resort however the big let down for it is its apres as with the cost of food and drinks you could easily spend £200 - £300 per night in comparison to other resorts. My recommendation would be to spend a day travelling to Meribel where you can experience a much more lively atmosphere for apres

I was there with my extended family as part of my mother’s last request ( her estate paid the bills) some of the young children had not Ski’d before. There were plenty of slopes for all abilities and great choice of restaurants.

I skied Courchevel during a terrible period for snow, but still managed to get a couple of little doses of powder. The lift system was great, and there is fantastic terrain. The off-piste options are mostly a little shorter than at neighbouring Meribel, which meant there was less competition for the good lines. Would definitely go back.

Great place for varied groups of skiers/snowboarders. We went as a group of 12 of mixed abilities from ex-pro to absolute beginners and there was something for everyone on mountain with places everyone could access for après together after a days skiing.

Stayed in 1650 as 1850 very expensive and soulless. since going "upmarket". Massive area on 3 valleys pass with excellent variety of pistes. Grooming good as is lift system. On mountain is expensive and not massive number of options. Apres ski in 1650 OK. Big variety of accommodation to suit all needs and price points.

We booked an apartment at 1650 within a chalet that offered direct access to the piste, skiing down to the gondola. Restaurants and bars were quite a long walk, but we made use of the regular free shuttle buses running up and down between levels of the resort. Food on the slopes was good and reliable, not having to wait too long.

Courchevel is a very good ski resort for all standards of skier and when you add the access to the whole of the 3 valleys is an excellent place to ski different runs each day of the week. Lifts can be crowded at times and it is a good idea to take your breaks outside of normal lunch time and ski during the noon to 2.00 pm period. Restaurants can be expensive so so you need to search for the more reasonable ones in the towns. We stayed in 1550 which has a lot of good value family accommodation. La Praz is a beautiful old town and has a great pub, The Elephant, in its centre.

Great skiing area that takes you past a great view of the airport (and sometimes a glimpse of the vips). Some nice well groomed pistes and varied run, with brilliant access to the other resorts close by. By pushing out to the far reaches, there are some nice and quiet runs (time dependent), which makes for sone really good skiing. Overall an excellent place to ski and some nice cafes and restaurants.

Courchevel 1650 is an excellent base for skiing Courchevel and Méribel in the Trois Vallee. Fantastic slopes for all levels and welcoming resort staff. Well connected for lifts. Courchevel 1650 is relatively small with nice, friendly atmosphere. Some older chalets and new modern apartments.
Local free bus link to Courchevel 1850.
Great amenities for groceries, eating out and a big modern leaisure centre.

We started skiing here in 91 and the children grew up on skis in the huge three valleys area (La Tania when children, subsequently 1650 and Meribel). The area is vast with something for everyone - a good reason to keep going back.

Very expensive in the village (and anything on the mountain), but excellent conditions when I went in late December.

Plenty of off-piste terrain to explore with gorgeous views.

Courchevel is quite an large ski area, it has a variety of ski runs for all different abilities. There are plenty of options for wizz kid boarders and skiers, right down to the novice. The ski lifts etc are very good.

The ski schools are very good, and have really experienced instructors, and cater for young children from around 4 or 5 years of age, my kids had a really good experience, the instructor was very patient and skilled at her job, right up to those of advanced years, as long as you can stand up!

It is generally very friendly, and good for families.

It is however, quite an expensive resort/area. If you are on a bit of a budget, venture down the mountain to some of the villages, there are large supermarkets which are better value for money.

On the whole, an enjoyable experience.

Amazing runs, the best place we have ever been. Great accommodation at Fahrenheit 7. Lots of runs. I recommend the 3 valleys lift pass, so many amazing resorts and runs. Ski lockers are really useful if staying further away from the lift.

My family and I stayed in Courchevel. It was fantastic! The people, the runs, the apres, the beautiful area, it was all great! The one thing I would say, is it (in my opinion) is one of the better places to go skiing/snowboarding and the price reflects that. So accommodation is quite pricey, especially if you want to be near the lift. But other than that, you seriously cant go wrong!

A wonderful resort suitable for all abilities .So much variety of runs and plenty of off piste.Major feature is the link to the Three Valleys lift system , the best in Europe if not the whole skiing world ! Plenty of varied spares ski from party at Follie Douce to fine dining restaurants My favourite village is La Tania , perfect situation , great runs to the village and super cool spares bars . The highlight for me was to experience Parapente from the top of Col de Loze ,over the trees and pistes for my last run of my last day last year downto La Praz . What a place !!!!!
