What Skiers Say About Courchevel

Courchevel attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting its connection to the Three Valleys as a major draw. Intermediate skiers dominate the reviews and consistently praise the well-groomed pistes, wide runs, and efficient lift system. Off-piste and tree runs are noted by advanced riders, while beginners appreciate the nursery slopes and ease of progression. The resort's high cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback, with reviewers citing expensive lift passes, food, drink, and accommodation. Après-ski options are well-regarded, though prices vary significantly between locations. Some reviewers mention crowding, particularly with inexperienced skiers, and a few note issues with lower-altitude snow cover later in the season.

This resort has great skiing to offer however if you are somewhat of an advanced skier I would recommend getting a three valleys lift pass as the slopes in Courchevel alone can get slightly repetitive. This allows you to drop down into Meribel and VT where skiing is amazing given the right conditions.

If you love skiing, Courchevel is a place that feels made just for your ability no matter what that is. As part of the three valleys, it interconnects with other resorts and gives an overwhelming variety.
For beginners and intermediates, the groomed runs are wide, smooth, and confidence boosting. You can spend hours without feeling rushed. If you’re an expert, the real magic is in the off-piste couloirs. Around Saulire, you’ll find steep couloirs and powder stashes that will keep you grinning all day. On stormy days, head down to the lower villages for some fantastic tree skiing.
Freestyle fans aren’t left out either. The snow parks are well thought out, with features for all levels, so whether you’re just starting out or sending cork 720s, you’ll find an area that suits you.
Courchevel is not cheap. Lift passes, food, and especially accommodation in 1850 can make your wallet hurt. But, the quality of the lifts, grooming, and overall experience is top tier. If you want to save a bit, stay in the lower villages like 1650 or Le Praz where you’ll still have full access to the entire ski area without the luxury price tag.

We stayed in 1650, but mostly skied in 1850. Lovely groomed green runs and helpful lift staff. Busy at certain points but to be expected

Great runs overall and we stayed at a nearby Airbnb walkable to a ski lift. Efficiently run, clean and well groomed pistes. Restaurant choices are also good and service and staff were great too.

Loved courchevel at this time of year, the snow was amazing whilst also being super warm and blue skies. I have been skiing here since a kid and it is my favourite place with beautiful snow and views. Super quiet during this time of year. The bouc Blanc in la Tania is our favourite cafe ever!!!

First time at this ski resort and it didn’t disappoint. I went with a mixed group of experienced skiers and beginners and it was suitable for us all! Great places to eat and drink across the resort and easy to access other resorts if you’re up for covering more distance. Suitable for a quiet more relaxed holiday but also has the option for more liveliness if that’s what you’re looking for. Overall had a great trip, and would absolutely go again!

Fantastic resort - everything you need. Could have done with some more snow, but that is out of anyone’s control. Some of the instructors could have been better - a lack of direction, and more being expected to just follow them, but some better than others. Our chalet and convenience was second to none. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Courchevel is stunning we stayed near le praz and it’s so easy to get the gondola to 1600 and 1850.

Lots of good restaurants around such as steak at restaurant la petite Bergerie. L’elephant was a quick food place which showed the sports on tv.

Le plante de bâton was a fun apres place they use champagne in their aperol spritz which I was obsessed with. Courchevel is so close enough to folie in meribel which is a brilliant afternoon out dancing.

We got the bus to the spa on the last day for some post ski recovery and that was lovely.

Fantastic resort to go skiing. I went as a beginner, having lessons every morning and then meeting up with the rest of my friends for skiing in the afternoon. There were plenty of green and blue runs for me and then some amazing reds, blacks and off piste for others in the group. We had a catered chalet which was fantastic as we didn’t have to think about what to cook or where to go to eat! We even got freshly baked cake every day for when we returned from the slopes! Best holiday I’ve ever had, would definitely recommend
