Courchevel Review Summary

Courchevel attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting its connection to the Three Valleys as a major draw. Intermediate skiers dominate the reviews and consistently praise the well-groomed pistes, wide runs, and efficient lift system. Off-piste and tree runs are noted by advanced riders, while beginners appreciate the nursery slopes and ease of progression. The resort's high cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback, with reviewers citing expensive lift passes, food, drink, and accommodation. Après-ski options are well-regarded, though prices vary significantly between locations. Some reviewers mention crowding, particularly with inexperienced skiers, and a few note issues with lower-altitude snow cover later in the season.

First time at this ski resort and it didn’t disappoint. I went with a mixed group of experienced skiers and beginners and it was suitable for us all! Great places to eat and drink across the resort and easy to access other resorts if you’re up for covering more distance. Suitable for a quiet more relaxed holiday but also has the option for more liveliness if that’s what you’re looking for. Overall had a great trip, and would absolutely go again!

Fantastic resort - everything you need. Could have done with some more snow, but that is out of anyone’s control. Some of the instructors could have been better - a lack of direction, and more being expected to just follow them, but some better than others. Our chalet and convenience was second to none. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Courchevel is stunning we stayed near le praz and it’s so easy to get the gondola to 1600 and 1850.

Lots of good restaurants around such as steak at restaurant la petite Bergerie. L’elephant was a quick food place which showed the sports on tv.

Le plante de bâton was a fun apres place they use champagne in their aperol spritz which I was obsessed with. Courchevel is so close enough to folie in meribel which is a brilliant afternoon out dancing.

We got the bus to the spa on the last day for some post ski recovery and that was lovely.

Fantastic resort to go skiing. I went as a beginner, having lessons every morning and then meeting up with the rest of my friends for skiing in the afternoon. There were plenty of green and blue runs for me and then some amazing reds, blacks and off piste for others in the group. We had a catered chalet which was fantastic as we didn’t have to think about what to cook or where to go to eat! We even got freshly baked cake every day for when we returned from the slopes! Best holiday I’ve ever had, would definitely recommend

Courchevel is exactly the luxury it claims to be! Not just the apres-ski and food but the pistes are brilliant. Getting a 3 valleys pass as well and trying to go from 1650 to the end of VT was amazing. Great atmosphere, great accommodations and so much to ski! This place is a dream!

Fantastic week but it was quite busy and generally quite expensive. Food was quite mid-quality for the price. Ski slopes are fantastic though.

Courchevel is a very pretty ski area. Depending on what altitude resort of Courchevel you are in will determine the type of ski holiday.

The higher altitude resort will offer more luxury accommodation, shops and restaurants making it not as fun for those on a budget and is definitely geared to people holidaying with lots of money. The other resorts slightly lower down the mountain are more accessible with better Aprés and slightly more down to earth clientele.

Tree runs, off piste and groomed pistes are great though.

Expensive resort that has bad lifts, short runs, packed with inexperienced skiers and dangerous for children. Would recommend not going their for skiing and choose Val D’Isere for actual good quality for the money you spend.

The 3 valleys is one of the best ski terrains in Europe if not the world, providing expansive areas of skiing for all levels. You can travel too all resorts at all levels with all route providing a choice of green, blue, red or black runs. Courchevel area though is wide and varied enough that you can enjoy a week just in this resort, skiing new runs a routes daily. There are fun parks for kids or parks for those that want to practice tricks. Apres is great, I would say 1650 provides the most varied options, visit the tiger on the piste for a sundowner or live music in the pelican. Food option are vast but can be expensive so I would suggest self catering makes the trip cheaper and travelling out of holiday time too. Peak times can mean some big queues but lifts are managed well. 1650 had lots of accommodation types as does le pea, and even though the latter is low at 1350 is lift system is amazing.

An amazing resort. Free beginner drag lifts, good intermediate skiing and enough variety for an advanced skier to stay in the Courchevel area without needing a 3 valleys pass.
