I went on a family ski trip here which was really lovely and perfect for the whole family but if I was going with a group of friends (Im 26) then I would want some more lively things to do in the evenings when the skiing is over but apart from that good skiing very family friendly great food available would deffo recommend and come back

Better for skiing than boarding. Bit of a pain having to get ski buses. La folie is a must for all visitors for apres. Such a huge resort and range of areas, its almost too much for a short break, better for a week.

The skiing in Chamonix is fantastic, the town is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. Only negative for myself was its not a ski-in ski-out resort but it has everything else.

A bigger town than alot of other resorts so not as pretty as some.
However I spent multiple winters throughout the alps and Chamonix I thought was by far the best for experienced riders. Excellent facilities to get up the mountain, challenging well kept slopes and a charm that cannot be matched. Can't wait to go back.

Great resort all year round. The town is full of life and is home to people through the year so theres always something to do. Prices can vary but bars and cafes are aimed at locals too so good prices can be found. Cant fault the slopes, with the Mont Blanc pass you expansive terrain with varied slopes for different abilities and can always find a spot with the best weather that day!

Have been to chamonix many times now, since 1999 and seen so much change. The runs are still awesome; particularly if you prefer more steep and deep stuff but the town seems to cater more for champagne and oyster eaters, rather than cheap and cheerful pubs that it once had. Granted, there are still a few little decent bars to hang out in (chambre neuf, the jekyll, bard up, monkey bar) but these are becoming a thing on the past unfortunately. If you can see past the gucci ski suit and mink head band brigade then it's still a jaw dropping setting that has so many challenging runs, as well as bid open plains (Le Tour).

Amazing ski resort links in to lots of other areas, something for everyone. Les houches is better for families. Whilst le tour and grand montet are good for experienced skiers.

Lots of skiing and quality apres ski. Enough slops and ski area for all levels, ski lifts are quick and little waiting time during the day. In the morning or late afternoon, there can be a long wait

A never been skiing person but been several times to hike and climb in the area. Very expensive at peak times and very busy. Lots of English tourists. However it is very beautiful and the views of Mont Blanc make it all worth it. I often watched people skiing and snowboarding and the level seemed fairly high. Everyone was very competent and from observing ski lessons (Im a professional outdoor activity instructor and am interested in picking up new coaching tips) I saw that everything was very well differentiated to the individuals even in a larger group setting. If I were going to learn to ski or snowboard this is the place I would go (with some practice at local places first) as everyone was always very friendly and willing to chat about lots of different things too! Overall. Great culture, great people and just about the most beautiful views! Ps if anyone is interested there is some AMAZING hiking and climbing nearby too!
