Amazing village and variety of ski resorts to visit. Busses are amazing and efficient. Food and drink was affordable.

Great for intermediates and above, can be steep and the lift system needs up dating. The area is not well linked and at busy times the wait for a bus is a nightmare. Really easy for a weekend break as its just over 1 hour from Geneva, with lots of cheap transfer options.

Chamonix was amazing. Skiing alongside unforgettable views was a plus, but the mountains themselves were epic. Off-piste was really fun - would highly recommend as well as getting a guide for your first time.

Chamonix is absolutely beautiful, with runs that are perfect for beginners or advanced skiers it should definitely be on your lift to visit. The only down side is having to walk and/or get a bus too the lifts but it’s honestly not too bad if you plan ahead. Definitely recommend

Chamonix is a brilliant location. I wouldn't say it is the best resort for beginners. We found the runs quiet narrow in comparison to other ski resorts we have been to. There is so much to do there if you dont want to ski all the time, which makes it a great all round location for the family.

Stayed in Les Houches with young family. My wife is non skier and lots to do for her. Chamonix itself was too busy, but surrounding areas were great. It’s an obviously well oiled resort

Such a stunning resort, beautiful views and lovely slopes. Very spoilt for an introduction to skiing. Local town was amazing too with so many good places to eat.

I’m a progressing intermediate skier so I picked Chamonix to have good option for skiing as well as rest days. Snow conditions were tricky when I went so hard to judge quality of runs really but still enjoyable. There’s no shortage of things to do when off the slopes, good food, bars and cafes. Would definitely return.

First time visiting Chamonix Mont Blanc in the last week of January 2026. The weather was amazing and it snowed almost every day. We did beginner ski lessons. To be honest, the Chamonix ski areas are not the most beginner friendly, as there are a lot more red and black runs. In saying that, beginners can definitely enjoy their time in Chamonix, but if you're a particularly wary skier, I would recommend coming back when you're a bit more progressed and confident!

Lovely resort with easy access to ski lifts with free public transport. Lots of little cafes and restaurants available too. The ski lifts are well maintained. Some of the blue runs are closer to red than blue which can be quite Challenging for a complete novice skiier.

Really fun resort to go to as you can go do different places each day but having to drive or get the bus to these places does make it a bit annoying

Lovely town and nice ski runs. Pricey but pretty and beautiful views from the mountains. Great food up on the slopes. Would go back.

Great resort for those learning to ski and families or friends looking for a good time. Not the biggest party town or apres, but some good bars and restaurants on the slopes and good time out in town which is beautiful. Ski area is big so shouldn't run out of space in 4 days. Groomed runs are decent, not a load of tree runs available, but a fair amount of moguls if that's your thing. Would say on average one of the trickier classification of reds I've encountered, most being relatively steep or narrow, so definitely a good resort to progress on stock quick.

Several ski areas, which are not linked by skiing- 1day for 1 area!
Parking can be difficult, especially at weekends or half term
Wide range of skiing to suit everyone, from super extreme- from the aguille du midi- to family and small children- Les Houches
Vibrant town, easy to reach from Geneva
Lots ova low level skiing and tree skiing for bad weather days

Expensive but very fun! Rookie skier, comfortable with the blues usually, occasional easier red but these reds were insane!

Chamonix is great if you love your off piste. Decent amount of pistes but the off piste is what makes it great. It is spread out across the valley so dont expect a massive linked ski area, hit a new lift station each day. Great bars and pubs make up for lack of slopeside partying. The history and lore of the place and the scenery is epic.

Massive ski area that’s generally suited to more advanced skiers, mainly red and black runs throughout the Mont Blanc resort. The food options are were this resort shines, they have everything from pizza to sushi to curry to fondue. One slightly annoying thing is the fact you have to get the bus to each ski area. No real on piste apres ski but lots of variety in chamonix including 2 nightclubs, the nightclub nights in the fole duce hotel was a personal highlight.

Lots of opportunities to ski the mountains, La Tours is my favourite. The town is beautiful with plenty of shops do shopping and many restaurants.
Chamonix is ideal as it’s a short flight from the UK with only an hour transfer.

Went at Christmas. There wasn’t much snow but the resorts were well maintained with well groomed pistes. Mountain restaurants needed pre booking. Ski bus service is excellent if you don’t have a car but can get busy at peak times.
