What Skiers Say About Avoriaz

Avoriaz attracts a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experts, with many families and groups visiting. Reviewers consistently mention the ski-in/ski-out convenience, car-free village with horse-drawn transport, and access to the large Portes du Soleil area including Switzerland. Snow conditions are generally described as reliable due to altitude, though lower runs can become slushy or icy in afternoons. The après-ski scene, particularly La Folie Douce, is frequently praised. Had the best time in Avoriaz ! First snowboarding trip ever and to go to Avoriaz as the first one was a 10/10 experience. Was also there for the Snowboxx festival which made the whole trip even better. Ski area is large to the say the least. Did a day trip to Switzerland as well which was really nice.

Great resort. Everything is to hand. Ski in, ski out for everyone.
Well groomed runs, well managed lift queues. Some parts of the resort were so quiet we had the slopes to ourselves.
Avoriaz is well planned and well designed.
Perfect for those who want everything at their fingertips.

Avoriaz is a brilliant ski in and ski out resort. We have been a number of times now and always had lovely conditions, December through to March. Due to the altitude we always feel in a different world, giving it a special feeling. As an intermediate there is so much skiing to be had in avoriaz and then the greater portes du soleil. Great pirates for practicing and more advanced slopes when trying to push yourself. The resort is perfect for those not skiing with plenty to do and ensuring the whole party get that alpine magic. Also we love a few bierre peche in shooters!!

Avoriaz has absolutely everything you could possibly need, regardless of whether you are skiing or not, or a beginner or pro! There are plenty of slopes that you can get on, some are of course way busier than others, but I have been able to get out every single day and make the most of it, even being a beginner on the blues. All of the facilities are amazing, there are so many incredible restaurants and places to stop for drinks, the accommodation is also top tier

Avoriaz is a beautiful place to ski and has lovely accommodation options ranging from small affordable rooms for groups on a budget, to luxury 5 star stays for those who want a big week away. Having visited now a few times I would confidently say Avoriaz is my favourite resort both for skiing and evening activities outside of skiing. There are more restaurants than I could possibly count, all of which serve incredibly nice food within reasonable price ranges for the quality of produce used (€15-30 per plate). I would certainly recommend avoriaz for skiers at an intermediate level or above. However for beginners the runs can be somewhat overwhelming as they can get very busy depending on when you visit (Check when Snowboxx is if you don’t want hectic slopes and more frequent lift stoppages). Overall Avoriaz is a busy but beautiful resort that I believe any skier should aim to visit at least once in their life.

Avoriaz gives access to a big area of varied runs. We were there for a week and travelled across to Switzerland for a day, travelled across to Les Gets another and everything in between. Lots of varied runs and obviously the Stash!

We went with my girlfriend and on the first day we both injured our hands lol so was not great but we managed to carry on and on third day it snowed for two heavy days and we couldn’t snowboard for a few days as it was so snowy so we did manage for the last two days, we would love to go back and get a full week of snowboarding this time as I had booked this trip a year in advance for our anniversary and it was ok but not what I had hoped for her as we had a tough year and needed this break with each other

Have been twice now and can’t wait to bring more family and friends to this mountain! As an American living abroad, I can tell you that the experience is so much more affordable and desirable than the typically very high prices paid in the states. Stunning views, delicious food, fantastic accommodations and vast options for skiers and boarders of all skill levels. Highly recommend!

We have been to Avoriaz several times. It's fantastic for our young family, we even bring the dog. Last year we even visited in the summer for the hiking and mountain biking. It's paradise really.
