Avoriaz Review Summary

Avoriaz attracts a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experts, with many families and groups visiting. Reviewers consistently mention the ski-in/ski-out convenience, car-free village with horse-drawn transport, and access to the large Portes du Soleil area including Switzerland. Snow conditions are generally described as reliable due to altitude, though lower runs can become slushy or icy in afternoons. The après-ski scene, particularly La Folie Douce, is frequently praised. Accommodation is often noted as expensive or basic, and lift queues can be significant during UK and French school holidays.

Good, available ski loops with the full ski pass, if you were to get the Avoriaz ski pass alone rather than the Portes du Soleil full pass then I don’t believe you would have enough skiing to occupy yourself for a week but maybe more like a couple of days.

Avoriaz was great and well worth the money spent, Although other Ski resorts may off a higher range of slope options I found avoriaz a perfect place to take my kids and wife who has recently learnt to Ski.

Avoriaz is a really beautiful resort and the lack of cars make it feel really special. It has a lot of wonderful options for post ski activities and an amazing apres venue in folie douce.

i do find the layout of their runs a little annoying, and the last few times ive been there’s been no snow but in general it’s nice

Avoriaz is a great place to stay as a base for all your skiing/snowboarding needs! There are lovely cruisy blue runs through the trees and fun challenging blues/reds with so many different options. Having Big/Little stash there was great fun.

Great slopes and connections across portes du Soleil. Ski in/ski out was great and where we stayed had a run start literally 10 meters from the door. Good restaurants and bars not too spenny.

I love avoriaz! The best resort for aprés and such a beautiful town. As a snowboarder I really enjoyed the runs there and the snow park was really fun. We went on a trip with university so whether you’re a family or a student you’ll have the best time!

Great slopes with plenty of routes and levels of difficulty. Apres 10/10.
Absolutely love Avoriaz - but if you fancy a change of scenery it’s so easy to ski in Morzine/ Les gets as well.
