What Skiers Say About Avoriaz

Avoriaz attracts a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experts, with many families and groups visiting. Reviewers consistently mention the ski-in/ski-out convenience, car-free village with horse-drawn transport, and access to the large Portes du Soleil area including Switzerland. Snow conditions are generally described as reliable due to altitude, though lower runs can become slushy or icy in afternoons. The après-ski scene, particularly La Folie Douce, is frequently praised. Accommodation is often noted as expensive or basic, and lift queues can be significant during UK and French school holidays.

The snow cover was thin but rideable in the Avoriaz area but the majority of Morzine and Le Gets were closed . All snow parks were closed due to a medical strike at the time but what made up for all of these factors was the incredible appreciation ski at the folly douce ever night . I'd recommend the Irish bar in town, they pour a great Guinness although the bar did smell a bit funky!
Unreal sunsets over the mountains really make this place stand out. Would fully recommend.

Having Skied extensively over the Alps I keep finding myself coming back to the PDS. It's variety of slopes, parks and proximity to Geneva make this one of my favourites. Only downside is Avoriaz scrapping the Halfpipe.

We love skiing in Avoriaz The low rating for the restaurants is mainly because we did not book and we were a large party. We loved The Folie Douche and the bars. The skiing was fabulous and we had perfect conditions.

I went with my wife and daughter and found Morzine/Avoriaz family friendly. The snow was was epic, which I know can be dependent on the season, but pow everyday for a week I was there. Morzine has a cool village with a good amount of food options too.

Great resort. Great restaurants, lively Apres and no motor vehicles allowed in resort – great for those ““tipsy” “walks back to your accommodation. Fabulous ski area-ski pass in Avoriaz Morzine, Les Gets, and Chatel. Been back many many times, highly recommended.

A really good resort with a mix of slopes, we visited Avoriaz for a day when skiing in Morzine. Avoriaz was busier but had a really good atmosphere especially at La Folie Douce.

Transfer was great, access to the hotel was fantastic. Went self catering and the supermarkets were quality with good choice. Skye area was massive and perfect for the whole family of different abilities. Plenty to do during the day and night life. Overall a great resort and would live to go back.

This place is like a fairytale with the horse drawn sleighs and the sheer magic of living in an apartment looking right down the mountain and watching the ski lifts go by. I absolutely adored it!!
