What Skiers Say About Sölden

Sölden attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders seeking reliable snow conditions and extensive terrain. Reviewers consistently highlight the glacier access, long wide runs, modern lift infrastructure, and vibrant après-ski scene. The resort draws mixed-ability groups and those looking for high-altitude skiing with good snow coverage throughout the season. Common criticisms include crowding during peak periods, expensive lift passes relative to terrain size, and challenging home runs in warm conditions. Several users note the resort feels less traditionally Austrian and more commercialised than comparable destinations.

Loved the efficiency of the lifts.Never far away from a cafe/restaurant for some of the best mountain food I've ever had and at a reasonable price.Plenty of Apres and good music everywhere.Stunning views in every direction. Very cold on my visit and I liked the lift pods to help keep the wind off- very useful.Great skiing with some care needed on the off camber pistes.Very enjoyable

Solden is a superb all round ski resort. It offers something for everyone. We love it, so much so we went back 2 years in a row. Id highly recommend eating at the 007 restaurant for lunch one day where the views are magnificent and the food is exceptional. The shops, bars and restaurants in Solden are great and it is an easy town to take a walk around in safely after skiing.

Went to Solden for the first time last winter and repeated this year. It has quickly become the best ski resort Ive been to in Europe. The variety of pistes, the snow sureness, the landscapes, the availability of accommodation makes it one of the best value for money resorts. The infrastructure is great as well. Can fully recommend

It was one of the best facilities I have ever seen. My favorite run is the track where I can pass through the tunnel. Food and drinks are of very good quality. Skipass is a bit expensive but the facility deserves it.

We really enjoyed our week in this ski area and would definitely return. Found the experience more enjoyable than 3 valleys, overall runs felt quieter and a calmer ski experience.

Sölden is a great resort in winter and spring too thanks to its glaciers. The lift system is modern and efficient and queues are rare even in peak weeks. There is also a good free ski bus service which links the two main gondolas, as well as accommodation off the main streets. A regular bus takes you to Hochgurgl and Obergurgl too.The Pistes in Sölden are well maintained and fall into three main areas which are well linked. The views from the highest peaks are wonderful and a visit to the glaciers, all linked by the lift system is a must. The James Bond experience is worth a visit too, as is a sleging run down from Gaislach mid-station. There are many mountain restaurants and huts for all. The cafetiere style restaurants serve tasty options and are reasonably speedy if you don't want to stop too long. These include restaurants at Giggioch and Gaislach (where you charge everything to your ski pass and pay at the end), as well as both glaciers. There are also many smaller huts dotted around with their own tasty menus. Self catering is easy with several supermarkets in town and there are obviously many restaurants and bars in the town itself. The self-catering apartments are large, warm and comfy usually with a bread service and welcoming host. I have experience of three ski schools, from child group lessons to adult private lessons and free ride training. All have been excellent and we have rebooked year on year. All in all it's a great resort for anyone but particularly good intermediate skiers.

A wonderful resort for skiers and snowboarders alike. Many long and wide runs for people of all abilities to enjoy and get away from it all on. Amazing experiences from the glaciers at high altitude all the way down to the village in one single run with multiple zones and terrains is spectacular. The 007 restaurant at the peak is a must-do too. Everyone should visit soelden at least once!
