What Skiers Say About Sölden

Sölden attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders seeking reliable snow conditions and extensive terrain. Reviewers consistently highlight the glacier access, long wide runs, modern lift infrastructure, and vibrant après-ski scene. The resort draws mixed-ability groups and those looking for high-altitude skiing with good snow coverage throughout the season. Common criticisms include crowding during peak periods, expensive lift passes relative to terrain size, and challenging home runs in warm conditions. Several users note the resort feels less traditionally Austrian and more commercialised than comparable destinations.

Get over to the glacier very early or after midday. Slow with queues around 1000. Loads of pistes and plenty of room to experiment with technique. Lots of eating options.

Skied Solden 2024, what a great resort, easy lifts, lots of runs of varying degrees, linked with Obergurgl for further great skiing. The town is super for Apres and eating out, would definetly return

Such a good variety of slopes, a lot of longer runs, rather than ones over in 10 seconds. Very helpful and friendly staff around, great selection of restaurants on the slopes. Would definitely revisit.

Solden is my favourite ski resort. It is such an amazing place for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with beautiful, long wide fun runs. The restaurants and apre skis on the mountains are the best Ive ever been to. Food quality is incredible, great vibes and super clean and up to date. Including the speed and up to date quality of the ski lifts! There is never much of a Que as there is always gondolas coming round fast. Not to mention a lovely village with great restaurants and ski shops. Will be going back after many Christmass skiing here.

Im incredibly impressed with the state of the slopes (in the morning, they were incredible; in the afternoon, they were still quite good for having been skied on for 5+hours). I also went to the ski depot and the staff was so incredibly sweet in helping me adjust my skis. Would highly recommend this report!!!

The resort is simply amazing. Most of the blue runs are very wide making it really easy for the beginners to have enough space to perfect the technique; for advanced skiers there are many options to choose from with incredible red and black runs, fun parks and free ride options. The lifts are modern and very efficient, there are many bars to chose from when you feel like you need a break and the view is simply georgeous. This was my first but definitely not the last time in Sölden, would recommend to anyone!

Solden is amazing, nice sunny, wide runs, and great glacier skiing! Amazing for intermediates, some great wide blue runs to practice technique on. It also has the longest run all the way back from the glacier, which is great. The views are spectacular, and coming out of the tunnel when you get to the glacier is an insane experience. We were very lucky with the weather, blue skies for all of our 4 days there. Stayed in Hochsölden in a ski in ski out hotel, which was super convenient. Tobigganing is also a super fun activity for adults and kids too, I cant recommend it enough.
