Family friendly resort with great snow security as very high up. No tree runs if thats what you like for you off piste skiing but some nice powder off piste. Ski school is fantastic but like a lot of the resort its quite expensive. Great skiing, great restaurants and food on the mountain not expensive. Apres limited to the odd bar, not a party resort at all if thats your scene. A lot of expensive accommodation so book early for the better value ones.

Such a great resort to learn with your family. Not loads of runs though so going over to hochgurgl is a must on some days. There isnt a huge apres scene, as its more of a family vibe but a fun place for a little drink and a boogie

Enjoyed this resort. Very few lift queues. Great atmosphere. The hotel we chose wasn't the best but good location and with convenient car parking in basement.

Chose the resort due to its altitude so snow sure. Not the largest resort but plenty of skiing for a week. Lifts good and queues short. Would recommend and will visit again!

High resort so generally has snow. Best place for apres in Obergurgl is the Nederhutte - great place for drinks after a day on the slopes

Wonderful long wide pistes and snow sure. Not a party resort, lovely for families. Nederhutte is a must visit on the apres ski days, helpful and friendly resorts

Amazing resort

Wonderful family owned hotel walking distance to the main lodge. Amazing apres-ski entertainment and activities including guided snow shoe tour to a slope-side lodge bar.
All inclusive dinning option was excellent with family style seating for the stay and marvelous Austrian cuisine.

The best for beginners looking for a balance of ski school, easy groomers, beautiful views and quiet resort. Perfect for learners and those just having the courage to go off piste. The back country skier may get a bit bored as the advanced/ elite skiing terrain is limited

Obergurgl is just about big enough for a week's skiing. It's very easy to drive/bus the 20 minutes down the road to Sölden (included in a 6 day pass) if you want a bit of variety.

The resort is high, so lacks some protection from nice tree runs, and lifts can get closed quite quickly on the Obergurgl side when winds pick up.

Overall, great for cruising around on some nice pistes!

High altitude (with glaciers) for Austria hence it holds the World Cup opening races every year means its pretty snow sure. Runs down can get crowded like most of Austrian resorts especially end of the day. Limited area so make sure you get the bus up to Obergurgl for a day if you can.

Gets cold earlier on in the season so a bit of deicing required on the lifts, get the first lifts opening. Later on in the season recommend riding till lunchtime when it starts to soften.
Try the Local food, germknodel, strudels and goulash. Don't over do the schnapps at altitude.

Nederhutte is very good got apres, terrain parks are very bassic with no path to progression. Off piest around runs is rather basic however if you have capability to go further from piest it is good. There is a risk of avalanche so be carful. Piest have large range, more basic than advanced runs.
