What Skiers Say About Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl attracts primarily beginner to intermediate skiers and families, with several advanced skiers noting the terrain can feel limited for a full week without visiting neighbouring Sölden. The most consistent praise centres on empty, well-groomed pistes, minimal lift queues, high altitude guaranteeing snow, and high-quality hotels with spa facilities and half-board options. The Nederhütte is repeatedly mentioned as the main après destination with live music, though reviewers consistently note the resort is otherwise quiet at night with limited bars and restaurants outside hotels. Several users mention the cost is noticeably higher than other Austrian resorts, and a few snowboarders flag numerous flat linking paths as inconvenient.

Good entertainment in Neiderhut
Lifts convenient for accommodation
My children benefitted from the excellent ski school and I have had some great tuition for improvement.
I hope have a few more seasons there before consigning the skis to the attic.
There were lots of various runs and lots of advanced and beginner slopes. My favourite part of the resort is probably the off piste and when I went the powder was just beautiful. However there arent great terrain parks so if youre looking for freestyle riding its not great . Other than that the resort is wonderful and everyone there is really nice
Lots of off piste places and the powder when I went was excellent.
Lots of nice places in the slopes to eat out as well.
Very good accommodation and services
Would definitely recommend the nederhutte.
Lifts are quick and efficient but can face some ques.
Apres is fantastic but food and drink on the mountain are expensive aswell as down in the town.
Local buses and lifts to solden are great option for a change of scenery through the week.
People do come T that the ski area ( just over 100km ) is a bit small. However, with the ski pass also working in Solden ( 15 min bus ride away) there are infinite possibilities!
