What Skiers Say About Ischgl
Ischgl attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the extensive, well-groomed piste network and modern, efficient lift system with heated seats. The après-ski scene is frequently described as among the best in Austria, with lively bars both on-mountain and in the village, though this party atmosphere may not suit all visitors. Snow quality and grooming receive high marks, with many noting the resort's high altitude ensures good conditions into spring. Common complaints centre on the busy, steep, and mogulled home runs back to the village in the afternoon, high prices for accommodation and on-mountain dining, and limited terrain suitable for beginners.

Lift queues are very small / efficient and some chairlifts even have heated racing style seats.
Best areas are from C2 lift - D1 / D2 ski area.
Plenty of long blue & red runs and some quite steep black runs for those that are more skilled.
Multiple ski areas available - the resort borders Switzerland, so can drop into Alp Trida, which again has some excellent blues & reds.
Aprés - excellent - schazi bar, trofana alm, kitzloch, hexenküche all provide a good time.
Only downside is the food and drinks at most of the restaurants & bars (e.g. pardorama and idalp restaurant) are very expensive arguably overpriced.
,the off piste and powder areas are brilliant and when the powder and weather is good it lives up too anywhere else in Europe, amazing apre every bar is full and bouncing with good tunes. Food wise there is anything and everything you could want from fast food to fine dining for what ever your taste or budget is. The people are happy friendly pleasant and always happy to help. Would definitely recommend ischgl I will be back for sure
Snow was plentiful and on the one day there was so much snow they had to close the resort for a half day we tried out the swimming centre where I highly recommend the outside swim up cocktail bar!
Lft infrastructure is superb - fast, high capacity, and well maintained. Our longest queue was under a minute.
Great (but busy) central area (Idalp) at the top of the gondolas. But there are plenty of options to go further afield and escape the crowds, with stunning scenery and beautifully groomed runs - many of them almost deserted. We particularly liked the runs into Alp Trida and Salaas. Be careful where you have lunch though - that 13 euro bowl of pasta in Austria costs 35 in Switzerland.
Nightlife caters to jumping apres, burger joints, or some nice restaurant dining experiences, so take your pick. There are supermarkets in town for self caterers too.
