What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Im a local and it is a very good hill for weekdays and weekday nights when its not busy. They are definitely trying to make up for the season we had last year. But it is annoying that they have the snow guns on most of the time. I know they have been short on groomers recently, so they sometimes dont do an afternoon groom. The runs are nice and the char speeds are good.

Best hill in Ontario - but not comparable to mount tremblant or the skiing out west. Become too crowded in recent years.

Sometimes the snow isnt well maintained and gets icy. Its more touristic but either way worth a visit

Best hill in Ontario. Super expensive and doesnt have good value for the money spent. Much better off going to Quebec or out west if viable

Lots of beautiful runs, and lots of things to do when not on the hills. Great time all around. We had a wonderful time on our three day getaway.

Blue mountain is a decent option for Ontario skiing. The level of trails offered is fairly represented by the chair you decide to go on. Unfortunately, due to the geographics the runs themselves are not very long. Queue times can be quite overwhelming during the weekend on and off the mountain, but Im sure this isnt unique to Blue.

Blue Mountain is a good place for beginners and Blue terrain skiers. The trails marked as black would be considered a Blue run in Utah. So, there's not many difficult runs. You can go down quite quick, but compared to other Ski resorts in the area, like Glen Eden and Chicopee, Blue Mountain is way bigger and has lots more trails. The view from the top of the mountain is beautiful. The village is also nice, with many restaurants and stores, and is usually nicely decorated. Everything there is overpriced though.

My family and I have been going to Blue Mountain for years that it has become a tradition every winter. Snowboarding is always the highlight, but honestly, weve grown to love everything about the resort. We know the accommodations like the back of our hand now, and its just such an easy, fun getaway. Even my parents get in on the action with cross-country skiing, which is nice because its something we can all do together. I love it so much that I started bringing my friends along too, and now its turned into this bigger tradition. Every trip is a good time, and it just never gets old.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort was/is a mixed experience. The slopes are short and ski lifts are overcrowded due to its proximity from Toronto. However, the vibrant village and dining options are a standout and the overall atmosphere is family-friendly.

Great spot if youre looking for a decent ski/snowboard experience nearby toronto. Distance wise from the city, its hard to beat. Good runs, when the snow is good its real fun. Lines can get pretty long but nothing excruciating, manageable with a little bit of a patience. Overall on a good day blue mountain is a ton of fun.

Blue mountain is a good place for learners the hills are great for first time and experienced people. Though it always looks snowy a lot of runs are always closed not sure why. Lift speed could be better but due to the fact that blue mountain is the best and only real quote on quote mountain in Ontario you have to expect high traffic especially weekends. Price is expensive but you get what you get with only one big resort in Ontario.

I love going to blue mountain! Almost the entire resort is groomed, (sorry for all those who enjoy off piste) and there are some awesome beginner glade runs. The accommodation is top tier, and the food is also amazing. My main words of advice are to avoid holiday weekends (it's very busy) and make sure you grab yourself a beavertail!

Blue mountain is my local resort. The skiing through the week with a good snowfall is amazing. Low traffic and quick too top to bottom access. The resort is very busy in the high season with high ticket prices. The pricing at Blue reflects big mountain resort prices out west with much less terrain and not as ideal conditions. There are a ton of accommodations and food options. The resort is very family friendly with many other activity options other than skiing/ snowboarding. Luck to have this in my hometown.

Ski patrol is very friendly and efficient. The lift operators are very diligent and caring. The runs are semi-long and have decent views. The terrain park is more geared towards advanced riders. Food in the Blue Mountain village does cost quite a bit but a 20 minute drive to nearby towns will save you a lot of money.
