What is not to love about Whitewater... this is my favorite resort to ski in all of BC! First of all, no cell coverage is a major plus. All you do is ski and have fun with your family and friends. The off piste and tree skiing is off the charts. I skied the glades off of the Glory Chair until my legs gave out! And if you want to go for a little ski tour you can strap your skins on and pretty much find unreal terrain in any direction. And the views alone are worth the price of the lift ticket. Whitewater has no on hill accommodation but that is ok because the city of Nelson is only half an hour away. There are plenty of options in town as well as an eclectic mix of dining options. The apres often moves into town at Mike's Pub or Backroads Brewing (our personal favorite). Food options at Whitewater are a plenty as well. The main restaurant and cafeteria has the best and most creative ski hill food you will find. Seriously, they have won accolades and even published several cook books. You can also get price friendly food downstairs like pizza and hot dogs but our personal favorite would be the quaint little lodge at the Glory Ridge. It has a silver miners mess hall vibe and amazing hot food. Oh, and the powder dumps at Whitewater range from good to amazing! Light and dry snow blows over Ymir peak and fills the bowls often. There is a reset every few days or at least weekly. Put this place on your ski travel list!

White water is an amazing resort for more advanced riders and people looking to start skiing more off piest. There is a variety of terrain including glades, moguls and small cliffs to jump off, it is the perfect and there is something for every level of skier/snowboarder. With consistent snow all throughout the season and a sheltered mountain the snow is very good and there is nearly always fresh lines to be found, the chairlifts are a little slow however it is always worth the ride up, the whole resort is fun and rewarding. It is always a very safe resort with lots of different routes down meaning it is difficult to get stuck somewhere you shouldnt be. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable and I always had positive interactions with them, the lodge and base area is well planned out and easy to navigate. The food in the lodge is good quality and not too expensive for resort food. Nelson is also a fun and nice city with lots to do and see, there is a variety of restaurants and bars for after you have finished at the mountain, there are also lots of cheap options for accommodation in Nelson. Overall white water is an awesome resort for people looking to start there free ride journey and for people looking to challenge themselves on some more difficult terrain.

Lineups. Old lifts. Lots of terrain. Absolutely the best ever lunch options. Fresh Tracks cafe makes the crappy broken lifts worth it.

great skiing, challenging runs, lots of terrain, great views, and really laid back skiing vibes. you need a car to get from town (Nelson) to the resort, but there are great food and accommodation options in town

Whitewater is a charming local's resort with buckets of character, no lift lines and endless powder stashes - think cold, light, fluffy snow. There is no mobile/cell phone signal once you reach Whitewater Resort, so you want to have a back-up meeting point (most runs lead to the main base), but that is all part of Whitewater's charm. There is an abundance of tree skiing, with perfectly spaced trees, and access to huge backcountry terrain. Whilst there are only 4 chairlifts, there is a huge amount of terrain that can be accessed from these lifts - and there are never any lines, even on a powder day! The terrain is best suited to advanced-intermediate to expert skiers, with plent of chutes, glades and bowls in the resort. I was also blown away by the food scene on the mountain. Being such a small resort, I was expecting a budget canteen. However, it blows bigger resorts such as Whistler out the water. You'll find fresh, wholesome meals from Asian dishes to local delights where the ingredients have been sourced locally. The recipes have been in such high demand over the years that they now sell 'Whitewater Cooks' recipe books! The resort is located just 20 minutes from the quirky town of Nelson, which deserves its own review, where there are plenty of accommodation options, hip restaurants, cafes and bars - most independently owned. There is also a small lodge nearby (Logden Lodge) which really tops off the full Canadian experience - think rustic log cabin with a crackling fire burning, set in the nearby forest. Overall, Whitewater has become one of my all-time favourite resorts, and I have been lucky enough to ski 50+ resorts worldwide.

Whitewater is a gem. Great terrain for skiers and snowboarders alike. Many freebie features among great side hits too. There's no service up there so it's a great space to fully disconnect from the real world and get in tune with yourself, your friends and the snow. It is a bit more advanced, so if you're a beginner you learn quickly . The food up there is also awesome, not your typical ski resort meals, and worth every penny.

This resort features high level of advanced skier terrain but is lacking with lower than average novice and intermediate runs and is therefore not family friendly

Whitewater is great! I lived in Nelson for a season and got about 30 days of skiing in. The hill is amazing its has powder for days. Im not going to lie some times the snow is heavy but no matter the day you can find pillow lines and powder pockets in the trees. Its a place for adventurers that slack country tours who will apré with an ipa and a giant chilly cheese fries.
