What Skiers Say About Whitewater Ski Resort

Whitewater attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders seeking off-piste terrain, tree runs, and backcountry access. Reviewers consistently mention exceptional powder quality, frequent snowfall, and minimal lift queues. The resort is described as small with limited groomed runs, making it less suitable for beginners and families. The on-mountain food receives widespread praise for quality and creativity. Several reviewers note the absence of mobile phone reception and the need to stay in nearby Nelson due to lack of on-site accommodation. Older, slower chairlifts are mentioned as a drawback, though most reviewers consider the terrain quality compensates for infrastructure limitations.

Whitewater ski resort is a super fun resort with a lot of different terrain. The lessons there are super good my cousin took one and had a blast. Overall a pretty quiet resort but still a super fun resort to ski with plenty of different terrain.

Whitewater features tons of terrain for beginners and more advanced skiers and boarders. I found it easy to ride with more advanced skiers because of the groomed runs next to more technical runs and tree runs. For its terrain size and quality, it is surprisingly quiet. As a con theres no park features this year.

Went here a ton in high school and it was always a peak resort, the addition of another lift was awesome to see and experience. The snow was pretty bad when I went due to the overall weather everywhere but it was still very fun to explore new areas.

Love/hate relationship with cellphone reception because on one hand it forces you to connect with nature but on other hand when you ski alone no music. Streaming.
Good variety of terrain for its size. Food is average in a good way. friendly staff.

Old-school ski hill atmosphere with the best steep&deep terrain around! Recommend starting slow on the Silver King side for beginner/intermediate riders. The Summit and Glory faces are geared for advanced and expert riders, with steep sections on even the blue-square/"easy way dows" trails. Those unfamiliar with the area should also be sure to stay within bounds as out-of-bounds terrain is full of hidden gullys, cliffs, and deep tree wells... you're bound to see some locals hiking beyond the boundary - don't follow them unless you are well equipped, know the risks, and know which areas to avoid! After skiing, hit up Coal Oil Jonny's for a pint of local NBC beer and some sick mountain artwork.
