What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Great runs and views. Conditions were solid. Food in the smaller huts are much better than the larger cafeteria-style lodges. New lifts have improved lines and bottlenecks.

Havent been skiing in 10 years and came up for the day from Vancouver. Parking was good value and ski rental was very efficient and great value. Spent the morning on Whistler Mountain and afternoon on Blackcomb after taking the wonderful glass-bottomed Peak2Peak gondola across with stunning views! The snow was great and I re-found my love for skiing and cant wait to come back on Friday! The après at Merlins was fantastic too!!

Vast ski area with great options for all levels. Great atmosphere in town...have been fortunate to have fresh powder when I've visited. If travelling from the uk, book accommodation and flights early with an epic ski pass for best value.

Very fun for a trip with friends - if youre all similar abilities. Keep in mind its very busy. Long lift lines to start your day but once youre up the first section youre all good. Just dont ski all the way down until youre done your day

If you want to explore amazing terrain, have to best snow in Canada Whistler Blackcomb is a one of a kind resort. The Mountain is probably the best in Canada and the Village is super cute. There is a downside to all of this tho. Its crazy expensive there is so few accommodation and its really hard to find a place to stay. I used to go every Christmas but its just not possible anymore. The price for a ski lift ticket for a day is 330$ canadian. Thats just too much..

The staff are very friendly and helpful, there are cheap and expensive food options as well as a grocery store in the village. Book your trips in the summer/ fall to save money and ski during the week instead of the weekend there are little to no wait times for the lift.

I went to Whistler with my boyfriend a couple years ago. It has since been one of our favourite trips! The views are STUNNING. We were lucky and had perfect conditions. The staff are also so friendly (and seem super cool). Although touristy and pricey, its definitely worth it.

Great resort when not overloaded with skiers/boarders. Waits on powder days/peak season can be long; late season skiing is usually fabulous with few crowds. Amazing terrain for all abilities.

Great slopes with the double mountain access meaning you have so many runs to choose from. Mountainside food options are pricey but that is to be expected. Off piste and challenging runs for those who want it. Stunning scenery and super friendly locals and fellow riders

I have been skiing Whistler Blackcomb for years. It's a magical place where the action never ends. Early tracks are best, due to the volume of people, but once you're up at the top, the vistas and terrain are vast, and you can always find a new place. There are many food and beverage options on the two mountains, and the lifts are fast and modern. The peak to peak gondola is spectacular, linking the two mountains together. There is a wide range of accommodations, but my favourite is Blackcomb Springs because it offers an amazing ski in/ski out location, which is rare on the mountains, and it has an amazing hot tub and heated pool right beside the main run down to the village. There is much to do after apres, as the party is never ending, with vibrant restaurants in the pedestrian only village, to pumping nightclubs and bars into the wee hours. Great shopping and spas await the non-mountain types or just for a day off. You will need it as the the mountain playground is vast, challenging, always changing due to the weather conditions, which change at different elevations. You can be in rain, a snow storm and a sunny mountain top all on the same run. The scandanave spa is a great attraction to rejuvenate a sore body. Prices can run high during peak season.

Stayed at the Westin Whistler. The mountain was in great condition and the staff were friendly. Fast lifts although some of the lines wet longer than desired. Understandable, but unfortunate. Overall it was a great experience and I will come back.

Whistler is a huge mountain with lots of options for new and advanced riders. Great for ski and snowboarding. The nightlife is awesome. It is on the more expensive side but it has everything you need and is always a great time.

When the snow is good, its mid week, and its sunny its the best place in North America. Vail, however, has a hard time grooming effectively and opening terrain quickly after a good snow (which, really, is bad given thats the whole point) and their uplift capacity, particularity with the Whistler gondola stopping or not running reliably, creates huge line and unhappy skiers on weekends. Also the mediocre food on the mountain is soooo expensive: we almost always pack a lunch. We have a place a whistler and still choose to spend at least a week skiing in the interior each tear, where fresh lines are avail, you might have to wait a whole minute to get on a chair, and a cinnamon bun is only 4$.

I would say if you are looking to ride for a long time and are exploring as many runs as possible, carrying a lightweight bag with snack bars, water and possibly sandwiches would be ideal choice. Always, have a group of people when riding tree runs or more hidden areas as it will be very crucial to your safety. I would say that do your research before going as this locations is elegant but comes with a cost ($$$$). Always check the weather the night before to see what the conditions are to know if conditions are good and always have fun! Ask locals of good spots as they are welcoming to assist you!
