What Skiers Say About Marmot Basin

Marmot Basin attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with families being particularly well-represented. Users consistently mention minimal lift queues, friendly staff, and the convenience of parking close to the slopes. Snow quality is frequently praised when conditions are good, though several reviewers note that the resort can be lean on snowfall compared to other Rockies resorts and that icy patches or bare spots appear in lighter seasons. So as a less experienced skier I love that you can go up the Schoolhouse chairlift and have access to so many viable runs if you keep moving right across the mountain. My sister has helped me gain confidence and so when I want to stick to only a few runs she shows me more at my level. The lodge is pretty much right at the bottom of the runs so learning to stop well helps though Ive never had an incident. Ive seen others with issues running into the ski racks but the beautiful people here helped quickly and with such kindness. I love this place and am blessed to only live 3 ish hours away from it.️

Marmot is my favourite Alberta ski resort. I love the wide open groomers with room to learn and grow. As my skill increases Ive found more fun trees to play around in. You cant beat a powder day here!

I have been to Marmot in every kind of snow or weather condition out there. From really icy to a fresh +20cm power day. The mountain and Knob chair are UNREAL when there is good powder. As long as there is some new snow, even intermediate skiirs will be able to enjoy the knob bowl.
There is a tree area off the right hand side of the resort that is so much fun if there is snow. If there isnt, be ready to break most of your gear from the rocks just beneath the snow.
No matter what day, you will have a good time here, though it cannget quite crowded being Northern Albertas only ski resort option. I love Marmot!!

Marmot has a great variety of terrain for every skier ability. Amazing place for a family or group with something for everyone. The townsite nearby of Jasper is a beautiful mountain town that remains quaint and not over run with corporate tourism. Overall one of our favourite places to enjoy the sport as a family.

Boarded here 2 seasons never a day that I was disappointed. Almost never had to wait for a lift line, additionally there was always a place on the hill you can find with no one on it. Very friendly crew. Mid mountain chalet has amazing vibes with multiple outdoor fire pits as well as music and some newly added swings as of last season. (2023/24) seems like theres always something going on at Marmot Basin whether it be a scavenger hunt or dj at the mid chalet or even the demo days. Youll never be disappointed skiing/boarding at Marmot Basin!

Marmot is our favourite stop in the mountains for its proximity to Edmonton. The terrain is great. The new knob chair lift is amazing and the runs are well groomed. The staff and lifties are amazing and very helpful. On another note, please support Marmot as it is right beside Jasper that has suffered great loss from a massive wildfire. Overall, marmot basin is amazing and the runs are fantastic!!

Decent sized hill with lots of different runs for all types of riders. Not too busy if you go at the right time. It's also not as pricey as other hills if you get the half off deal.

The experience was overall pretty good but I think that it would have been better if more runs were open. Can not blame the mountain on that though, as it is early in the season. That being said if most runs are open, I think it is a fantastic resort!
