What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

Lake Louise has been my go-to resort since I was a kid, and it remains one of my favourites. It offers a wide array of terrain spread over several mountain faces that generally allows groups of varying ability to stick together throughout the day, making it very family-friendly. The lift system is quite efficient, and long queues for lifts are usually uncommon. The expert terrain off the summit and paradise lifts a variety of chutes and cliffs to explore, with a few opportunities to hike to reach some less trafficked snow. Snow volumes could be better, but due to the low humidity and cold temperatures at these latitudes/elevations, conditions tend to be more consistent through the season compared to lower resorts in BC. Lake Louise has some of the nicest day lodges of resorts I have visited as well; bring a picnic and buy a beer!

Skiing lake Louise and Banff was extraordinary. The scenery was majestic, I have never skied anywhere that beautiful before. The runs were well groomed, the lifts are quick food and accommodations were fairly priced. I bought our ski lift tickets at Costco, best price. A bit of a drive to the lifts from the village however there are a lot of shuttles that run to and from the mountain. If you havent been definitely a must! Try out the sky mountain restaurant for lunch, the view is breathtaking.

Less family oriented. Has good bowls with good snow. However groomed runs are always icey and way too many people.

Great all around resort with the best views of any resort in North America. Can be very cold in mid winter.

I have visited Lake Louise a number of times to volunteer for The Ladies World Cup Winter Start. I was amazed at the friendly staff, the friends I met from all over the world and the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the entire resort. The lodge is world class, the village is beautiful, the x-country skiing is world class (I always arrived early to spend a few days on the x-country trails taking me from the village up to The Chateau Lake Louise - over bridges, through the woods, along clear blue rivers). I love everything about Lake Louise!!!

There was not much snow at Lake Louise when I went. The resort had a nice ice sculpture with which we took pictures. The main gondola is small and not renovated. Slopes are icy. The best aspects of Lake Louise is the food at the resort. Great quality good for a reasonable price. Loved the poutine!

Lake Louise is one of my favourite ski resorts Ive been to! The lifts are very efficient and there are very rarely any queues (mostly a weekday skier, but not bad on weekends still). The mountain has plenty of terrain for every level and its loads of fun. Only downside is we havent had much snow yet this season and there are some relatively icy portions.

You cannot beat the serene beauty of Banff National park. Gorgeous sights and gorgeous snow await you at Lake Louise. Thes staff are extremely knowledgeable and the instructor team is phenomenal. At mountain, there are several food options. The options are expensive, but the on-mountain bistro has some of the best food I've ever had; the bistro is a great fancier option for a unique dining experience. If you are heading to Banff, Lake Louise has the most complete resort experience among the Big 3.

Lake Louise is visually very beautiful, the runs are long and steeper than others in the local area.

They often have fun Apres and djs playing on the weekends. There is a free shuttle to and from Banff, where there are plenty of accom and food options.
There are also plenty of fun and scenic hikes in the area.

Great ski area linked with Sunshine Village and Mt Norquay, best accommodation to be found in Banff which is a short ski bus ride from Lake Louise. One of the most beautiful ski areas I've ever been to with stunning views.
All trails are well groomed and piste map is easy to navigate. This resort can get really cold to wrap up well
Worth a visit to Chateau Lake Louise to see the ice carvings and watch out for the Elk walking through Banff, they won't move out of your way!

Overall really nice at all skill levels. Went for my 4th trip here and was really good for advancing to a black run at the end of the day. New lifts are cool and plenty of runs to choose from!

Love this resort. Not too crowded, lifts were efficient and lots of variety for apres ski to eat lunch and grab a drink. Love that you can do so on hill as well. Beautiful scenic views as your skiing. Only dislike was there was mostly icy runs - it's early in the season so I assume it will get better
Easy to drive into and park so more time getting on the slopes

The back side and back bowls of mount Lefroy has the best terrain, all off-piste powder runs but not patrolls for the paranoid.
