What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

Went to Banff as a group of 8. Many first time riders in North America and it didn’t disappoint. Huge dumps, quiet resort and bluebird days. Apres ski can’t compare with Europe but back in the village it’s lovely at night.

Absolutely love Lake Louise because of the tree runs and the available powder runs. There's lots of room so you're never bumping into people, and there's a great variety of everything there from intermediate to advanced.

Recent developments have greatly improved the lift infrastructure and expanded terrain for all abilities. The new Pipestone chair and West Bowl is huge offering a vast area of terrain from open bowls to perfectly spaced tree skiing with big vertical. Beginners and intermediates have the new lifts as well including the new Richardson’s ridge chair and terrain on the backside of the mountain.

There’s no place quite like lake louise - the runs are long with lots of variations and truly has something for everyone - the mountain is big enough that it never really feels crowded. Love the versatility of terrain and the views :)

The mountain runs sometimes can be icy, but after a nice snow fall they’re really good. Hardly any walking spots expect one big long one at the back. Theres some beautiful green tree runs, and some slower areas but not as pad as the sunshine resort. Sometimes if it’s too windy some car lifts won’t work. I do recommend staying on the back side of the mountains as it’s less crowded. Parking can be awful.

Lake Louise is great when it snows but otherwise it can get very icy. The runs are long which is nice, but the lifts when busy is not managed properly and it can get chaotic. The lodge on the mountain is cool and the patio outside for a beer is a vibe

It was the best skiiing I’ve ever done. Lake Louise created a great atmosphere for all ski levels. The staff were helpful and friendly. If I had to suggest anything I would say you definitely need to create and apres ski culture!

Lake Louise was incredible. It had snowed all month and the powder was amazing. So many excellent tree runs. I took a free guided tour with the ‘ski friends’ and they showed me the best spots. Lots of great food options and they opened a new lift which gave space for a bunch of new runs

Beautiful mountain with many different areas depending on ability. New chairlift installed that allows beginner/novice skiers to have an area in the mountains (not just the base) to explore. Many lifts that are for the more experienced rider, keeping the experts and novice separated. Views are exceptional. Food quality was great. Some mogul runs were so rutted they were unsafe in my opinion. So much terrain, you'd need multiple days to explore it all.

Great place to snowboard or ski. Would highly recommend. Had so much fun in the woods. Going through the rock gardens and hitting the park! Runs were nice and long. Chair lifts were fancy. The food was good and the hill was not over crowded. Will definitely go back if given the chance
