What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

It was a stunning experience, best snow I’ve ever had and just a stunning nature.. the only big negative point are the chair lifts- pretty old and slow. Reminds me a bit of the old ones in Europe. Not pretty good especially when it’s that’s cold

Spent 5 days in banff and snowboarded 3 days at lake Louise. You have to pay for parking if you don't catch a shuttle or show up first thing. Missing out on the apres ski vibes but this hill is sick. Give me the west bowls all day long.

Family of 4 - 3 expert skiers, 1 beginner. Used rentals - which was the biggest downfall for us cost wise. The staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond when we had equipment issues. The hills were spectacular! Would definitely go again!

it’s a great resort! you just need to make sure you get there early enough to get parking, i would also pack a lunch as the meals can get quite expensive. they opened a new side of the mountain and it’s a great run with tons of powder!! make sure you check it out if you get a chance!!

Lake Louise has a great variety of terrain from groomers to alpine off piste. They just opened a new area called Richardersons Ridge with a lot of intermediate terrain. Highly recommend this resort.

This is my home resort and grew up skiing the mountain. They updated the hill this year with a couple new lifts and some new terrain which is very nice. The snow has been fantastic this year at Lake Louise all over the mountain. Great terrain from blue and green groomers to double black off piste. Fun for the whole family.

The mountain is awesome and has tons of options for lines and the lift layout works well. I've only been once but never felt like I was lost and never had to walk to a lift. Will be going again.

Sweet hill. Back side of mountain gets tons of pow when it snows. Gotta get there early though or it gets real chewed out. Love the hill. Some fun cliffs you can hit too

Incredibly beautiful views. Efficiently run, chalet has great options. As beginner to intermediate snowboarder it was great because the flats are really not too long and manageable, runs are very wide, but still lots of terrain for my advanced skier and snowboarder friends to thoroughly enjoy.

Lake Louise is great for speedy groomers on the front side and also expert off piste terrain on the back side. Super fun mountain, skiied three days in a row and never got sick of it! Not too busy early December.

The snow was very good and it wasn’t busy at the lifts. The powder on the back side was amazing. The food was quite expensive for the portion size.

Hot tips: arrive as early as possible in busy periods- the lifts open at 9am but any later than 8:15/20 you have to park miles and miles away, which also means leaving in the evening takes hours!

Temple lodge is much nicer / quieter than the main lodge so lunch / hot chocolates there!

December 2025 snowfall has broken the all-time record for snow at this time of year. Coverage is good, and a new chairlift just opened December 17th. There is a wide variety of terrain for all levels of skiers or riders. Love my home mountain, great skiing, and amazing views in Canada's oldest national park.
