What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

Great food options. Little lift lines with large ski area. New bowls open. Trees and good but not glades because of national park rules. Con no apres vibe until late spring … nothing compared to Europe.

I’ve grown up going to Lake Louise my whole life, with the last 3 years of updates to the lifts it has made so much more terrain accessible. 3 new lifts in the past 3 years has been amazing, opening up a whole bowl of powder and beautiful glades areas, to a brand new December 2025 lift that allows access to tons of backcountry and also beautiful green and blue cruisers for beginners. I will always sing Lake Louise’s praises from the kindness of staff, to the fun apres vibes with the ice castle, and my favourite are the themed days in the spring. This year is already hitting record snow levels and maximum stoke inbound. It does have the quieter Canadian, polite apres vibe in comparison to the raving European vibes.

Views are stunning, lots of open runs and fresh powder. Multiple bars on the mountain. Would recommend hitting the back side of the mountain.

I like long cruising groomers and fancy heated bubble chairs & gondolas so LL was perfect for me. Not much apres to speak of on the actual mountain though. But I went for the fresh powder so that was what mattered most. Tons of terrain and low crowds was a major bonus.

Went in March 2024 for one day of skiing and rented skis ski rentals for quick and efficient and enjoyed using them for the day. Lift lines were non-existent at almost every lift. Conditions were a bit icy but as the day went by starting to soften up. Lots of different runs to choose from. Had good food options but expensive as is difficult for a big ski resort.

This ski resort has amazing terrain for its size and options for all skill levels. The back can give a back country feel. The lifts are regularly upgraded and new lifts have been put in which reflects money going back into the resort to improve guests experience. I love this resort.

the resort overall is great, good lift system and not too crowded. Can become iced over on ungroomed runs during long periods without a storm. Great powder runs in the west bowl after a storm.

Great hill, great park crew, I went on a year with limited snowfall but the backside was still relatively soft and fun due to wind moving around snow overnight, definitely cold, bring layers

Best time of year to visit is March-April, you will skip the deep freeze and snow conditions are consistent and plentiful. Excellent off piste chutes and steeps off Summit Chair both front and back. Parking lot can be a pain but once on the lift system everyone spreads out nicely. New lift coming this winter (2026) which will open up a new intermediate area which will be all natural snow.

Great resort, it’s huge and there is so much variety. It’s got amazing terrain and is spectacularly beautiful. No lift lines either, really, even on weekends. It’s also got surprisingly good food options. One of my absolute favorites.
