What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

The front side of the resort is high volume facing west and boasts the most marginal conditions as a result. It gets highly skiid out and can be icy as a result.

Higher elevation on the front, especially to the West Bowl offers more extreme angles and less traffic, but the backside is where the moneys at. Better groomers off Ptarmigan coupled with black and double black chutes galore to the east. Loads of very challenging terrain back there.

Great routes, very busy ski resort. Parking is easy. Food is way too expensive. My buddy broke his arm there and the staff were all over it.

Lovely resort, lots of runs which are never very busy. Very low ski queue and can often ski straight onto the lift. Lovely views all over the resort

Amazing world class hill. You are spoiled for choice in the area. However no where else offers the variety of terrain for all ability levels like Lake Louise does. If you can ski greens and blues you can enjoy the entire resort where as other resorts may require higher skill sets to see the whole mountain.

You may not get the powder that Golden or Fernie gets, but you will consistently have good options for run on any given day.

Lake Louise is one of the most wonderful ski resorts in Canada. Its famous for all its off piste terrain and the beautiful scenery. So especially on a powderday its a must for all ski or snowboarder. The terrain is also great with couple big jumps and slides which get groomed every day. Furthermore you got many options to eat something in restaurants or just go for a quick snack.
The only disadvantages are the old and slow lifts.

Very good resort, beautiful views with runs for every ski level. Good mogul fields and nice groomed runs. Park could be bigger and more jumps but the jumps and rails which are there all ride perfect. Maybe a park lift for the freestylers would be good addition but overall 4/5

I have had a great experience both times I have been to the resort. I have gotten the lake Louise plus card and this year I have used my full card! It really has helped me safe money. I appreciate the kindness of the employees as well. Food was excellent and chair lifts were great! When I had went it was a bit icy but it was still a great time!

At one point I would have called Lake Louise my "home" resort. I was a pass holder for over 10 years and usually skied 50+ days a year there. It is still one of my favorite places to ski and I miss it when I see they have received a dump. It has a long season usually from November to May and it's big enough to get away from whatever "crowds" there may be even on long weekends.

You can enjoy the groom and non groom slopes and beautiful scenery but parking lot is very uncomfortable and too far from the lodge and should pay at closest parking lot.

Louise does have it all but busy and snow can be hit or miss. Backside is go to for quieter slopes. Ride Larch or Ptarmigan.
