What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

At one point I would have called Lake Louise my "home" resort. I was a pass holder for over 10 years and usually skied 50+ days a year there. It is still one of my favorite places to ski and I miss it when I see they have received a dump. It has a long season usually from November to May and it's big enough to get away from whatever "crowds" there may be even on long weekends.

You can enjoy the groom and non groom slopes and beautiful scenery but parking lot is very uncomfortable and too far from the lodge and should pay at closest parking lot.

Louise does have it all but busy and snow can be hit or miss. Backside is go to for quieter slopes. Ride Larch or Ptarmigan.

I lived in Banff for a few years and I loved lake Louise, the main issue that its 45 mins from the town so getting the bus and back was slightly frustrating. But the slopes were brilliant and they had loads of hidden surprises throughout the mountain which is great. The food is wonderful on the slopes and the little bar where you can do apres is fun. There isnt much accommodation near the mountain so have to be in Banff mainly for it but its a really great resort I couldnt recommend it enough. I love the back country and Lake Louise and getting the summit chair is brilliant the view from it is unreal but its very cold so wrap up!

Lake Louise is a lovely ski resort that is perfect for both skiers and snowboarders! This is a great mountain resort to go to with friends, family, a partner or even solo! It has great areas for everything, powdered areas, nice trails, good terrain for all levels, nice cruising areas, good moguls, and most importantly this is a great resort to take beginners, it is a very good mountain to learn on! They have lots of events and very kind staff! I would love to work at this resort!

Exceptional steep and off piste terrain in west bowl and on the back side. The scenery is incredible and the snow is usually very good due to cold temperatures. There is a good size beginner area however the step up from the learning area to the easiest greens is a big one. The grooming quality is poor and multiple groomed runs are left for days between being groomed resulting in very icy and bumpy runs. The lifts are ok by Canadian standards but the food and apres ski is poor.
