What Skiers Say About Lake Louise

Lake Louise attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who consistently praise the resort's extensive terrain, including back bowls, tree runs, and varied difficulty levels. Reviews frequently mention excellent powder quality, minimal lift queues, spectacular mountain views, and efficient lift systems including recent upgrades. Negative feedback centres on inconsistent snow conditions with runs becoming icy between storms, expensive food and limited dining options, cold temperatures, parking difficulties especially on weekends, and a subdued après-ski atmosphere compared to European resorts. Several users note the resort works well for mixed-ability groups due to its terrain variety.

Lake Louise is one of the largest (by area) ski resorts in Canada. They have terrific off piste chute skiing if you know where you are going. And good long cruisers if you like that aspect. No onhill accommodation and the only congestion is usually around the parking lots. The hill is well serviced with lifts in strategically located places. Dependable snow almost all the time.

Went with my friend who is a little less experienced than I, but we still managed to have a wonderful time. Snow was great, drinks were great, food was great. Plenty of awesome people and awesome runs/features. 10/10 would go again 100%

Louise has been my go-to hill these past couple of years, incredibly large hill with an insane diversity of runs and terrain, the food and concessions are also surprisingly cheap for a ski hill, well worth your money!

Lake Louise offers visitors a fantastic winter experience with consistently great views, and tons of terrain to choose from. For more experienced skiers, it is hard to beat Lake Louises back bowls that offer anything from wide open slopes with consistent fall lines to very steep and narrow gullies to challenge even the most experienced skiers and boarders. Sitting at fairly high elevation in the Bow Valley, the area is known to get bitter cold weather on occasion but the locals know how to bundle up and enjoy themselves anyways. Additionally, most of the resorts best terrain is above the tree line which can make for difficult visibility in overcast conditions. Comparing the resort to nearby ones on the BC side of the great divide, Lake Louise unfortunately does not get as much snow and tree skiing is often better at those other resorts.

Overall, Lake Louise is a fantastic ski resort with phenomenal views and some of the best in-bounds terrain in the country for visitors to explore.

Skied early in the season, so the snow was a bit thin in places, but otherwise a great resort! Lots of long runs on the front side and some more challenging ones on the back of the mountain. Favourite thing to do was to take the gondola up so I had a chance to warm up!
Generally not too busy other than the rush at lift opening time on weekends.

Well I only skied at this Resort once, I did find some interesting terrain. I find the quiet train the best place to really get going and be able to do some pretty good stunts. Although the train with the trees seems to be challenging as well. Overall this Resort seems very safe and has some great accommodations. With the size of the resort I was very surprised about easy it was to get to everywhere, food-wise, ski lift wise in the areas that I wanted to explore.

This hill is sick. Boasting a massive area with front and backsides you truly see and experience it all. The park has it pro features right next to the main chair so your ride up is entertaining. With runs available to accommodate toddlers to world class athletes or in between you get fresh tracks every time. Keeping people so spread out has its perks for sure. Some of the coolest open powder runs Ive ever sent were here. Its an amazing hill. So much fun.

Lake Louise is a great resort with a wide variety of terrain for all abilities. The runs are maintained well as are the parks. The lifts are fairly consistent. On the weekend it can get quite busy but the amount of lifts helps to ease the queues

Living in Banff, Lake Louise has been my pick of the ski big 3 resorts for this early part of the season. Their snow-making abilities paired with the awesome selection of terrain make it a top resort for any kind of skier.

Big white and hourglass offer unbelievable free ride skiing right off the chair when coverage is sufficient.

I have always avoided skiing weekends here as the lifts can become quite congested but weekday skiing feels like you have the mountain to yourself.

Food and apres prices are steep as with any resort but the lodge is great!

I highly recommend Lake Louise for anyone passing through the area.

Loads of terrain for advanced skiers and beginners alike. I can say confidentially that no matter what level you ski, if you dont like skiing trees or bumps or thats all you want to do, lake Louise us something for you.

Accommodations and amenities near the hill and lacking compared to other hills Ive experience. The food is great but theres little to no accommodations where you can get to the hill without driving, taking a bus or shuttle from Canmore or lake Louise chateau. If you are to find accommodations on the hill or in the chateau even I wouldnt consider it to be very affordable.

Lake Louise offer a great verity of terrain. On good days you can ski there for hours upon hours without doing the same run twice. There are so many great runs to go on and it is a great place to learn. One downside is the lodge at lunch get really packed

First time snowboarding ever and it was the most amazing experience I couldve had. The staff on the bunny hill were super understanding and supportive. And unlike some, the green runs felt like loads of fun and were really enjoyable. A really amazing first time experience at such a beautiful place
