What Skiers Say About Snowbasin

Snowbasin attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners using the Earn and Learn programme to experts seeking powder stashes and challenging terrain. The most consistent praise centres on the high-quality lodges, fast and efficient lift systems including gondolas, well-groomed runs, and diverse terrain ranging from wide groomers to steep chutes and tree runs. Reviewers frequently mention minimal lift queues on weekdays, though weekends see heavier crowds particularly since joining the Ikon Pass. Common complaints focus on expensive food and lack of affordable dining options, limited nearby accommodation requiring stays in Ogden, and parking challenges on busy days. Lower elevation compared to other Utah resorts occasionally results in variable snow conditions including rain and fog.

I have spent 25 days at SnowBasin this year. Despite occasional never-ending traffic on the way there, once on the mountain, the lifts operate smoothly, resulting in minimal wait times. Removing the Ikon Pass would likely enhance the resort's experience.

Hands down the best resort in Utah! I cannot say enough good about this resort. The facilities are second to none, the lifts are well kept, the runs are well kept as well, and when its a pow day, there is no better place to shred than Snowbasin! During the week the lift lines are either non-existent or five minutes maximum. The terrain is friendly to beginners and experts alike, all you have to do is choose the right areas. I received lessons from Snowbasin and all of their instructors are very accommodating, but they also push you to do things that they know you can do, key word KNOW. They helped me gain a better understanding for carving, moguls, and just being a better skier. Literally could go on forever about this resort!

Great if you book in advance and return each year under the ski to learn campaign. Awesome quality lounges. Steep terrain. Lots of free parking, buses from Salt Lake City. Stay in Eden for timeshare accommodation. Beginner terrain could be better. I have been two years running and would definitely go back.

I love snowbasin but I wish they invested more into their ski school and apres options. The lodges close almost immediately after the lifts do making it hard to enjoy a full day up there and instead cutting the day short.

Theres a lot of good terrain for all skill levels and fast lifts along with incredible lodges. Weekends are rough here and they almost always run out of parking but if you hit it on a weekday to cruise the groomers its one of the best places to be. If youre going on a powder day get there early before parking fills up. Food is incredible if you can sell all of your organs to pay for it.

The lodges were done for the Olympics in 2002 and feel more luxurious than deer valley! Chandeliers fire places, gold taps, lifts yes lifts to get to the toilets high up in the mountains. Expect uncrowded runs, steep terrain , this is definitely for more experienced skiers as the beginners terrain can be daunting away from the basic magic carpet and chair lift at the base. Very cheap place to learn under the learn to earn scheme if you are a complete novice . They give you free equipment and a ski pass if you takes lessons for three years. Avoid windy days as a third of the mountain may close. Take a 4by4 or bus to get there. 7 days included on ikon and like sister ski resort sun valley in idaho is a great place to spend a week if the weather is good. Very exposed if it is bad.

Snowboarding is a really good mountain for intermediate to expert riders, they have really great terrain parks and a dedicated spot for park features. Long runs, and alot of double black runs from the gondola.

The lifts and gondolas move a lot of people around. This keeps the lines moving and the people on the mountain. The runs are well groomed. Great powder runs too. Im a weekday skier and the runs arent really crowded.

Snowbasin is a great resort whether you are just learning how to ride or looking for the backcountry. It can get a bit busy depending on day and time, but the large size of the mountain makes it seem less crowded. The lodges are amazing and the lifts are fast and great.

I love Snowbasin ski resort. I have grown up skiing here. There is a wide range of terrain available for everyone. Everything funnels back into one base area making it super easy to hit different parts of the resort. Their gondolas are efficient at moving tons of traffic. The lodge areas located at the base as well as at the tops of many of the lifts. Offer plenty of space for their patrons. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Ski patrol especially are effective, efficient and reliable.
Overall I love this resort.

Some good terrain, nice lodges, no overnight lodging. Lots of low skilled skiers & riders dangerously over their heads. Great lifts, inconsistent grooming. Some lift upgrades in recent years but the overall experience has gone downhill in recent years. Low elevation means rain, fog & often variable conditions. Crowded when not fully open. If you get there when they are open border too border & the suns out it can be great!
