What Skiers Say About Snowbasin

Snowbasin attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners using the Earn and Learn programme to experts seeking powder stashes and challenging terrain. The most consistent praise centres on the high-quality lodges, fast and efficient lift systems including gondolas, well-groomed runs, and diverse terrain ranging from wide groomers to steep chutes and tree runs. Reviewers frequently mention minimal lift queues on weekdays, though weekends see heavier crowds particularly since joining the Ikon Pass. Common complaints focus on expensive food and lack of affordable dining options, limited nearby accommodation requiring stays in Ogden, and parking challenges on busy days. Lower elevation compared to other Utah resorts occasionally results in variable snow conditions including rain and fog.

Some of the best powder I've ever gotten was in the rope section of the jp lift. A good weekday storm and you can get continuous laps of untouched powder multiple feet deep, with a couple of spots you can get a pretty good amount of air off of. Really good tree runs on porky with some amazing kickers, you can flow through both and make some sick runs. Dining is a little expensive as you could expect but there is something good at each, but the best is the chicken waffles in the John Paul lodge. Downside is it does get really packed sometimes especially om the strawberry side, so weekends kinda suck. Also parking, parking sucks, but not nearly as bad as a lot of resorts.

Ive been skiing here since I was a kid and its been my favorite resort Ive been to in Utah. My biggest complaint is the prices of food, but the runs such as strawberry and Allen peak are my favorite runs

I love Snowbasin! I grew up coming to this resort and I love it with my whole heart. The resort is incredible and it feels like my home away from home. The runs are always well kept, facitilites are taken care of, and the cheesy fries are heaven on hearth! I recommend this resort to everybody!

Snowbasin is a very good resort, when you get there its easy to park and there is people guiding you and there is a shuttle to take you to the lodge. The lines flow good and move fast and all of the lifts are quick. The lifts are also very easy to get off.

Ive grown up on snow basin resort. I could saw this resort is the most value for the money. Great lodges, and terrain, to groomers to powder its always an amazing day. Without much wait time, Ive never had to wait more than five minutes even on the powder days makes skiing more easy. Very good mountain and would recommend anyone visiting to ski here.

Snow basin is a great place for more advanced riders. It has a 2.5 mile slope from top to bottom so theres a lot more wear on the body naturally . Great resort with great park and resort maintenance . If you can get to snow basin on a powder day there is no greater feeling. The resort gets really crowded on weekends due to the ikon pass but weekdays are way less crowded . Staff is okay not as friendly as powder mountain but great terrain

Very fun resort. Super family friendly with ski patrol constantly on the watch to ensure kids or beginners safety. It is very diverse and with fast and efficient lifts all over the mountain makes it easy to ride your favorite spots with ease. Groomed runs are always done to perfection with their team and the powder runs are fun and all over. Very fun, and well made, terrain park for beginners and advanced riders.

It is definitely on the more groomer side for the terrain they offer. Their runs are mostly open and wide, making them great option to practice carving. One drawback for me is that most technical double blacks do require some distance of hiking or long traverses.

Snowbasin is a super fun resort for all levels, they even have the downhill from 2002 Olympics. Lots of off-piste too. Kind of a cool playground for all levels/ages.

A large resort with a lot of cool areas. Some steeps, some really cool off trail stuff, but great groomers as well. Some flat spots for snowboarders to watch out for if the snow conditions are slow, but nothing too bad. The parking and shuttle situation is AMAZING and the gondolas and lifts are great.

Snowbasin is a very nice resort with runs suited at all levels.
The main issue is that they are allowing to many skiers per day on the hill. This coupled with poor parking, can really disappoint you experience. This used to be a excellent ski area with a even better value.
They could get it back, but it seems that all there are interested in is you money.
Sorry Snowbasin, but I know that the truth hurts, been skiing here for over 60 years. I have seen a lot of things come and go.
