Alta is for expert skiers. Lots of hike/traverse to terrain. Groomers are few and boring. Gets more snow than anywhere and is attached to Snowbird which is not great as it just adds lots more skiers going back and forth.

I believe that Alta ski area is the best ski area out there! The terrain and ambiance is amazing and the quality of snow is unmatched. Year after year Alta always has the best snow. last year reaching 903 inches of snow, Everyday was a pow day.

Alta is near and dear to my heart as it was the place I learned how to ski three years ago. Their ski school helped me go from wedge skiing to skiing parallel the same day. Every time I get a lesson I become a better skier and I can feel and see a huge difference in my skiing every time.

Alta is great ski area and is so rich in history it always feels like Im apart of something special when I ski at Alta.

Awesome place to ski. Beautiful views with the best snow so far this season. Wide range of terrain for all types of skier. More for advanced skiers with chutes, trees, off piste and groomed runs. I enjoy all the greens through to black diamonds. Fun for all the family. Popular as a one resort pass but like most of the utah resorts available on the ikon pass. The latter is the only way to go if skiing for 4 or more days. As with most utah day tickets the cost can be prohibitive. Can ski between here and snowbird. Parking is available but you should take the bus as the carpark fills very quickly. Quite a few lodges to eat at.

Alta is one of my favorite resorts ever! It has everything I want in a ski resort: powder fields, playful terrain, steep chutes and a great atmosphere. I spent a few days skiing there and had a blast. I skied everything from steep gnarly cliffs to powder fields that seem to go forever. I give Alta a 10/10 just because of the terrain. Alta also has great lodges to keep warm during their bitter winters, and they are very efficient. With multiple different zones and a wide variety of terrain you will have the time of your life here!

Ive never been to a ski-only resort before so it was a completely new experience for me and I loved it!! Had very nice groomers on Saturday and a little powder on Sunday. People are very friendly there and the terrain and snow are simply amazing. Its a wide open terrain so I definitely felt like I got lost multiple times since I was alone but every way goes down somehow. Im already planning my next trip to Alta!

Fantastic resort. A great experience in a beautiful setting. The staff is fantastic and the food is great. If you are looking for a resort with a great mountain vibe look no further. Also the closing day is the best in Utah. Costumes, bands and a parking lot party like no other.

Alta is a skiers only paradise where you can hit a lot of groomed runs or traverse to bowls for any skill level. Alta gets the most snow for all the resorts in the Wasatch front so you can always expect good coverage snd some good powder.
I learned how to ski here and it made me a better skier as most of the runs are a bit .ore difficult than other resorts here.
Highly recommend coming here to sking everything!

I keep coming back to Alta. This is where I learned to ski in my youth and loved it then. Had many a season pass then began to branch out to other resorts for a change of scenery as most Utah resort have the greatest snow on earth as they say. Now as I get older my ski days are more limited so I want to go where I know the snow will be the deepest and most consistent compared to the other Utah resorts on any given day. Well, Alta fits the bill, especially last season receiving over a record breaking 900" total inches for the season. The snow in the Cottonwood Canyons tends to be just a little bit better than the others, especially at the beginning and end of the season. You can find any kind of terrain your after but will have to hike for some of the more advanced terrain and runs but well worth it and the views are breathtaking. This is definitely a skiers resort, not much going on after the lifts shut down. The drawbacks are traffic, canyon and resort access on those big powder days, road closures and interlodges are common but worth it if you've make it up there when they open up. Parking reservations are now required on weekends and holidays but this seems common at most resorts now. If you've never skied Alta, it should be on your bucket list!

Alta is easily the best ski resort Ive ever visited (pertaining to snow conditions). The most average day at Alta is like an insane powder day at Park City or any non-cottonwood Utah Resort. Its ski only so if you want to board just go to Snowbird. Not a great resort for park skiers but if you like big mountain skiing while still staying in bounds then Alta is the ski resort for you.

If youre traveling to the Utah area, Alta ski area should be your first stop. Its a ski only resort (sorry boarders) but its got some of the best snow totals in all of Utah. Hikeable terrain is everywhere in this resort, with over half of the runs being above the lifts. Epic powder turns and some of the steepest terrain in the Wasatch are within the ski boundarys! Stay late for DJ parties by locals in the parking lot or dinner at the hotel.
