Really nice powder place! Lots of fun shutes and nice fields after a big dump. Love it. Close to affordable accommodation options

Alta have some great terrains for everyone. It is overall not as technical as its neighbor Snowbird, but still have some impressive black runs that had me pumped up. It gets the most snow in the 4 cottonwood resorts and its a dream on a powder day.

Fantastic resort for technical skiing. For Europeans, there are very few groomed runs and most run require hiking to reach. Whilst this adds to the excitement, it makes it challenging. Note, not much to do outside skiing. No town per se with shops and restaurants. Eating out in an evening would be at local hotels. Ski lifts are sparse and lift passes expensive. But the Skiing makes up for it

Alta is a skier only resort that offers a unique resort experience that caters to true skiers that like off piste and challenging terrain with a local feel. It can get a bit crowded on lifts during peak days and holidays.

Having been an employee of Alta, I have seen and heard it all from my own experience to what those visiting also experience. With only 5 lifts, the groomed terrain is good but only about 15% of what Alta has to offer. Being up Little Cottonwood Canyon, there is great snow and so many tree runs and off trail runs available. Many areas do require a traverse or a hike to ski, but it can help cut down on the number of people in one area at a time. There is a good amount of easy terrain for those who are not hard chargers yet but there is so much steep terrain available when youre ready for it. With only a few hotels up at the ski area, there is a lack of night life but thats not why you go to Alta. The snow at Alta is the best Ive ever skied and why Ive made the choice to work there.

I used the ski at 3 pass this season, and the part that I enjoyed the most is the quiet slopes! The sunny side lift has all types of terrain and wonderful snow. 5 stars.

Alta is a great ski only resort. Terrain is technical and the snow is generally always good because snowboarders dont ruin it. Less people too
