What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain is Ontario's largest ski resort, located within two hours of Toronto, and attracts a wide mix of families, beginners, and intermediate skiers alongside some advanced riders. Reviews consistently mention efficient lifts, well-groomed runs, and a lively village atmosphere with dining, shopping, and après options. However, the resort faces recurring criticism for weekend crowds leading to long lift lines, frequently icy conditions rather than powder, and high prices for tickets, food, and accommodation relative to the terrain offered. Advanced and expert skiers note the limited vertical drop and short runs compared to true mountain resorts, though many acknowledge it as the best option in southern Ontario. Several users mention good snowmaking infrastructure but warn that conditions deteriorate quickly under heavy use.

Very Expensive and busy - miss the days before it was only about making money! It’s apparent that profit is more important than the ski experience

Have a place in Blue Mountain. Love going up for the weekend with friends to snowboard. Powder in February 2025 was incredible!

I like the number of runs Blue Mountain offers. Some hills may have ice patches, but if you try a few of your difficulty, there ought to be some that are in decent conditions.
I also love the parking spots that are right at the bottom of some runs. When you finish up, you could just straight ski to your car.
It is however, a little far for people in the Greater Toronto Area.

Overall: cute mountain with some good short runs for a smaller mountain in Ontario Canada. Limited height of mountain made up by efficient lifts, could maintenance, and good variation of the runs.

Great spot to ski during the week as lineups are not big, weekends are much busier and not worth the money for amount of runs you can get in.

Worth it to book a room nearby and get a couple days in. The village is really cute and good locations to sit and relax in between runs! Hills weren’t too busy when I went so there was lots of space to move around. Bunny hill I was at is quite small though.

We get a 5x7 pass every year and love coming up to blue! It’s a 2hour drive but it’s the best in the region!
Some slopes can get a bit icy (Ontario weather) so be cautious of that. We are looking forward to all the improvements they have made for this year! They have put a lot of time, energy, and money into making sure you get the most out of the season!

Blue Mountain is more of a hill than a mountain but there’s a good variety of runs. There very few places to stop on the mountain in terms of bars and restaurants, but we have been spoilt by skiing in Europe.
We were lucky that the 2024-2025 season was very cold and they had plenty of snow. They do have late night skiing which was fun. Value for money is quite good compared to other ski locations in Canada. The village gets very busy at the weekends because of all the visitors from GTA

Blue Mountain is the best Ontario had to offer! Reasonable prices in comparison to the rest of resorts, and the biggest hill with the most runs. It isnt like anything in the Rockies or Europe, but I love it all the same!

Largest hill in southern Ontario and tends to be busy therefore can get icy sometimes. Still a ton of fun none the less, especially when you get to the north side of the mountain with mainly black runs so there aren’t as many people.

Can be busy with inexperienced riders. Make sure you are aware. Best place to visit north of Toronto in the early morning.
