What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain is Ontario's largest ski resort, located within two hours of Toronto, and attracts a wide mix of families, beginners, and intermediate skiers alongside some advanced riders. Reviews consistently mention efficient lifts, well-groomed runs, and a lively village atmosphere with dining, shopping, and après options. However, the resort faces recurring criticism for weekend crowds leading to long lift lines, frequently icy conditions rather than powder, and high prices for tickets, food, and accommodation relative to the terrain offered. Advanced and expert skiers note the limited vertical drop and short runs compared to true mountain resorts, though many acknowledge it as the best option in southern Ontario. Several users mention good snowmaking infrastructure but warn that conditions deteriorate quickly under heavy use.

It's pretty good for Ontario but it can get super busy and the conditions are not the best. it has a nice village though so if you're going for more than just snowboarding it's fun for a weekend but pretty expensive

Blue Mountain Resort offers a solid variety of runs that cater to all skill levels, from wide, confidence-building green runs to more challenging black diamonds that keep experienced skiers engaged. The lift system is efficient, and even on busy weekends, wait times are generally short compared to other nearby hills. Their snowmaking is reliable, which makes a big difference during unpredictable Ontario winters, and grooming is consistently well done. Beyond skiing, the village atmosphere really elevates the experience. There are plenty of dining options, après-ski spots, and shops that make it feel like a true getaway rather than just a day hill. While it can get crowded during peak times and prices can be higher than smaller resorts, Blue Mountain delivers a well-rounded, enjoyable ski experience that’s worth the visit and has something for everyone in your family.

We were here for do New Year’s Eve. I do not recommend going in a weekend or holiday. It was so busy the lineups were painfully long for all lifts.

Food options were astronomically expensive and long wait times. Overall not great but is the best we have in Ontario sadly.

I love blue mtn I go every year with friends or family. It’s the only good ski resort in Ontario in my honest opinion. Love the slopes, the lifts and the little village at the bottom. My work (KEG) also books out blue mtn every February for KEG CUP. Great amenities for beginners and or experienced snowboarders or skiers. Can never go wrong with blue mtn.

Expensive lift tickets for what you get. Small mountain , not lots of runs. Expensive food options and drink options and accommodation can be fairly priced if purchased on a promo

BLUE MOUNTAIN ONTARIO

Ski rentals- expensive to buy at the resort, many options just outside the resort for more reasonable prices. Was sent to 3 different lines that took approx 1 hour to get the rental equipment! Equipment was in good condition.

Lift- gorgeous views, efficient and kind staff, low wait times.

Hills- happened to be extremely icy during this trip. Heard multiple experienced skiers say they should’ve adjusted the level rating for the hills based on the ice- I tried the most beginner hill and it was a sheet of ice. Other hills were better maintained and this isn’t typical of blue!

Food/drink- DELICIOUS but def on the pricier side. Many many options within walking distance, kind staff, good hours. Ate brunch at the Pottery- 10/10.

Accommodation- many options locally: on resort, Airbnb, local hotels. On resort was very expensive (we attended during peak season between Christmas and new years) and ended up staying at a higher star hotel off resort for about half the price. Ubers are pretty much always available and wait in the area.

This is a decent destination for a weekend trip from Toronto. If you looking for challenging, this might be your cup of tea. But if you close Toronto and want to enjoy the slopes, you can’t go wrong. The village is very charming

Its not a bad resort at all, it's close to home. It gets extremely busy, poor condition to ride as its harder to maintain to others near the area. Although really shouldn't be an excuse as this isn't really a mountain, its just a big acre of land with hills.

Overall, I'd visit it again because it is conveniently close to where I live.

Blue Mountain Resort has the best skiing in Ontario. With 2 beginner area’s, plenty of intermediate terrain, and blacks spread out over the hill there is something for everyone. The village has many options for dining and Apres as well as shopping and other activities like pottery making and VR experiences. I personally love the Axe Throwing and the original Apres spot, Jozo’s!

Really touristy and overpriced for what you get compared to European or even American resorts but it’s the biggest we have in Ontario. Oh well.

High quality ski resort, Airbnb’s and rental housing in the area is very hard to get and is very expensive so plan ahead if you don’t live in the area! Terrain park is pretty decent but not a main attraction. The runs are gorgeous on a sunny day with the ability to look over the lake from the mountain. As a snowboarder there were a few traverses/ catwalks that were awkward and narrow so you have to be cautious of other riders as to not endanger yourself or anyone that isn’t paying attention. Other than that it is a good price for what you get

We went as a family of 4 and overall it was a fun trip! It was pricey though but ant least amenities and room was clean, nothing too fancy.

Slopes are great and experienced skiers/snowboarders will love the higher-rated slopes. There’s also cute shops and places to walk around for a break from snowboarding when the kids (or you) need a break.

Solid place to go for the east of Canada. Similar to Mont. Tremblant but will less elevation. If you're looking for somewhere to go in Ontario, Canada - this is your best bet.
