A very busy mountain on weekends due to huge amount of condos and day trippers from Massachusetts. Best avoided on Saturday. Good grooming and variety of terrain. Several really fun trails for expert skiers including Angel Street. Lots of uphill capacity including gondola for cold days.

I learned how to ski in a redone quarry in Iowa, so when I went up east for college i fell in love with the mountains of New Hampshire. Yes some of the runs are known to have a bit of bite, but that honestly couldnt matter less. It is just so much fun out there at Loon. The runs coming from the north peak (mostly blacks) are so much fun and have a great amount of variety between your options of really moving downhill, some challenging runs to maneuver, and pretty good amount of forest. They have chairs getting you all around the mountain really quick with barely any lines, and Loon peak has the nice classic catwalks and long windy blues with some black chutes here and there, so you can really create your own run pretty easy. Ive been with all variety of skiers, from more experienced to beginners, and having the option of a green from the top peak really makes it easy to get new people to love skiing. As far as pricing goes its pretty par for the purse, but its got one advantage of being 2:30 to Boston versus 3+ for the Stowes And the Sunday rivers of the world. The culture around is great, and you can definitely see a lot of familiar faces if you go again and again, and they have the three resort pass if you dont want to go with the Ikon. I love this mountain, and couldnt recommend it more for anyone local to New England.
