A very busy mountain on weekends due to huge amount of condos and day trippers from Massachusetts. Best avoided on Saturday. Good grooming and variety of terrain. Several really fun trails for expert skiers including Angel Street. Lots of uphill capacity including gondola for cold days.

Loon has some of the best terrain in the East! Great grooming great snow making !!!!! Lots of terrain for family and lots for experts!!! Always somewhere to escape to make some quiet runs and the apres in Lincoln is great!!!

I learned how to ski in a redone quarry in Iowa, so when I went up east for college i fell in love with the mountains of New Hampshire. Yes some of the runs are known to have a bit of bite, but that honestly couldnt matter less. It is just so much fun out there at Loon. The runs coming from the north peak (mostly blacks) are so much fun and have a great amount of variety between your options of really moving downhill, some challenging runs to maneuver, and pretty good amount of forest. They have chairs getting you all around the mountain really quick with barely any lines, and Loon peak has the nice classic catwalks and long windy blues with some black chutes here and there, so you can really create your own run pretty easy. Ive been with all variety of skiers, from more experienced to beginners, and having the option of a green from the top peak really makes it easy to get new people to love skiing. As far as pricing goes its pretty par for the purse, but its got one advantage of being 2:30 to Boston versus 3+ for the Stowes And the Sunday rivers of the world. The culture around is great, and you can definitely see a lot of familiar faces if you go again and again, and they have the three resort pass if you dont want to go with the Ikon. I love this mountain, and couldnt recommend it more for anyone local to New England.

Loon can be fantastic mid week, with it being the closest larger mtn to Massachusetts it gets super busy on the weekends. The bar scene /apres is one of the best in the state. Lift lines can get pretty long but manageable if you go out early or stay later in the day.

Great mountain to ski, huge parking spots which can be pretty full and sometimes its hard to find a spot. The busiest mountain Ive skied so far but offers fun trails, two peaks that you can access with another lift. The lodge is huge, a lot of accommodation options around, as well as restaurants. I have to mention the great new lift with 8 seats, with heated seats and a glass shield that can protect you from the wind, also theres gondola that you can access by the train that transfers skiers or by following certain trails from the top.

Loon mountain is mostly for skiers who are looking for nice groomed trial and a nice terrain park. They dont have a lot of off trail skiing, but if you look hard enough, youll find some.

Loon was a good mountain to take a day trip but not more than that. The East cant help their conditions lately but midway through the day any snow was gone and almost all of the runs were icy. Good food options and waffle cabin is a classic but definitely a smaller town vibe. Wouldnt recommend for a group trip
