I love winter park. The moguls are great, the trees are amazing, and the bowls are so much fun! There are plenty of side hits on the runs.

Great resort worked and skied there terrain is fun but the flow is not great no real memorable runs. The grooming was great and the terrain parks where fun the Jane side has fun trees. The cirque is amazing but a pain to access and lap all day

Winter park is a resort that has incredible trees and fun. Steep chutes. The Mary Jane side of the mountain, has exceptional sustain terrain, mogul fields, and access to very nice trees off piste. However, on the Winter Park side, one can expect to encounter several flats that require quite a bit of skating. Regardless, the eagle wind area on the opposite side of the mountain from the Mary Jane side, is a place with powder caches, and can be an escape from crowds on a busy day. Around the mountain is straightforward and overall winter park is a great and fun resort to go to if youre in the Rockies.

Winter Park has something for everyone, and when combined with Mary Jane, its certainly large enough to keep skiers occupied exploring for a weekend. But it is standout exceptional in any one thing really? No, probably not.

Love this mountain! There is a bit for everyone and once Cirque Vasquez opened I fell in love with the experience of the off piste skiing there!

Winter Park & Mary Jane Resort, the closest big mountain resort to Denver, CO. Parking has gotten tricky due to new construction and paid parking . At the base area a gondola whisks you comfortably up the hill . From here pick your adventure .you can from this location explore Mary Jane , and panorama which is a must do on a clear blue bird day ! Or run the MJ Chutes or one of the many black diamond double black diamond mogul runs , if you want to get your legs loose head over to the winter park side Board heads pick up speed because this cat trail has some flat spots. For on mountain dining you have snoasis, sunspot and lunch rock to choose from as well as the base areas. Very family friendly, also a great adaptive skiing program for skiers with different needs one of mt favs

Usually the best snow quality within 2 hours of Denver, but the layout is a little frustrating.
If you like fast, wide groomers or hate getting stuck on flat spots while traversing around the resort, then don't come here. If you like trees, views, and fresh powder, then do come here. The terrain park is kind of average and a bit oddly organized compared to other resorts, and I feel there is a huge gap in difficulty between the small features and the medium ones. Progressing between these will need to be done at Copper or Keystone down the road.
Access through Berthoud pass is a welcome relief from the horrors of I-70 (except for the occasional avalanche that keeps you out or traps you in). The train from Denver sounds like an amazing option if you can somehow justify the $138 roubd trip ticket that gets you slopeside 30 min after the first chair which seems like an incresible missed opportunity. Parking on the Mary Jane side for free can be nice if toy get there early enough for a good spot, but they fill up quick on the weekends and can result in some long walks down the road if you get here at the wrong time. Lift lines can also be worse than Copper, but usually stay on par with Keystone.
Snow quality is better than average, but layout is below average.

Best family resort in Colorado by far. Great mixture of levels for all types of skiers or snowboarders. Both my kids have learned here and have had amazing experiences with the ski school. My only gripe is no public magic carpet at the base area.

Overall a great mountain. A short-ish drive from Denver (90mins), barring Berthoud Pass is fully open, WinterPark/Mary Jane offer a full menu of trail options for a medium sized mountain. Solid choice for families and advanced skiers wanting to get a solid ski/snowboard day in. On powder days, The Cirque on the backside of the mountain offers great advanced terrain. WP/MJ was my go to mountain for the 2023/24 season.
