Love mammoth! Great staff and beautiful mountain! During Thanksgiving only Main Lodge was open but the staff was so kind and helpful. I couldn’t find my locker and a staff member walked with me and held my stuff to go and find it in the East wing. She was so thoughtful and kind it really made up for not finding it in the first place. I nanny two kids who are much more advanced but they always share how safe they feel at mammoth and how everyone is kind and caring towards them on and off the slopes. Overall, the environment is incredibly clean and comfortable. I can’t wait for more runs of the mountain opens. This is a very friendly mountain and their Apres parties are always a hit!
We just need more snow! Can’t wait for the opportunity to travel around the world and explore other resorts!

I love Mammoth. It’s a huge mountain high altitude so it’s open later in the season than most. Rarely closes before the end of May. Has something for everyone ski/ride wise. Dining options on Mountain are awful. BYO best. Town is cute and has enough restaurants bars but not fancy. Not much Apres ski except the Fri Sat at Canyon lodge high season. Lots of accommodations but all pretty pricey high season sometimes booking in advance helps. Shuttles around town are good except in bad weather. Lifts are ok severel could use updating.

I make a yearly trip to Mammoth Mountain. It’s by far one of the best and easiest accessible big resorts. The town offers a free bus and trolley so there is no need to drive to the lifts, but driving is an option as well. I typically try to go mid week to experience wide open slopes and endless terrain. Hands down my favorite resort.

Went a little early in the season which was nice for less crowds but not the best for the conditions. Perfect for ski lessons for my friends 3 year old tho. But would wait for more snow if doing more than that. The hotel in the village was fine but rundown a bit. Could use some refurbishment. Heat was way too high and couldn’t adjust. We had to leave the patio door open to keep the hotel room cool enough. Town was super quiet but we went midweek early December. If you want to be one of a few families out then good time to go but not the time to après ski.

Mammoth has my heart. I worked there so it’s also a different experience I think than most people. Everything is expensive. I wouldn’t have been able to go at all without it costing an arm and a leg. I think that there is a lot of passion for mammoth and snow too there. I think 70% of the people who are there are from SD, OC, LA. Relatively friendly crowd but also somewhat entitled. It’s hard to be a ski-bum there kinda, the BLM land and a bunch of parks have changed their rules. If you visiting though for a shorter period of time, there’s a lot of opportunity for staying there. Housing accommodations are similar to OC price range. Hotels are expensive. But the runs are great, it’s a super high quality mountain, a lot of diversity at every level of ability.

Great mountain. Just don't go on weekend everyone from LA shows up and its very crowded. Weekdays are amazing especially when there's lots of snow

Mammoth Mountain Ski resort is top notch with an excellent variety of terrain and and ski lifts are very good too. I highly recommend getting an IKON pass to offset the high cost of single day lift tickets if you ski more than 5 days here per season.
The scenery is amazing.
Monday through Thursday skiing is your best bet to avoid large crowds on the weekends.
Its worth the drive from Southern California areas because there is so much more areas to ski and way better snow coverage than any SoCal ski areas.
There is a good mix of Snow boarders and Skiers at Mammoth Mountain.
With so many ski runs and huge areas one can ski here the whole winter and well into the Spring and not be bored.
ENJOY!

They are finally starting to upgrade lift. Some of the hotels are nasty and charge way too much. Roads are well maintained. Some mid to high end range food. Some new restaurants that are good. Some are ehh. Olympic grade mountain for sure. Love it regardless. Always down to go.

Mammoth was great aside from the loft lines! It was a holiday weekend, but the lines were still pretty bad. Good apres, lodging options, and general accessibility

Spent New Years at Mammoth Mountain with my family and partner, and it was an unforgettable experience. We stayed in an Airbnb just five minutes from the gondola, which made getting up the mountain super convenient. Surprisingly, for a holiday weekend, the mountain wasnt overly crowded, and we never had to deal with long lift lines.

The conditions were absolutely perfectfresh snow, well-groomed runs, and great visibility. Whether youre a beginner or an advanced rider, Mammoth has terrain for everyone, and we loved exploring different areas of the mountain. One negative is that skiing in the states is spenny $$$$.

Overall, it was an amazing trip, and Id highly recommend Mammoth to anyone looking for a top-tier California ski destination.

Skiing in Mammoth was one of the first experiences I had as a family! We found the area beautiful, and would stay on the slops from when the lifts open until they closed! Apart from the quality of the skiing, we loved the names for the pistes as well and will definitely be coming back again to challenge Huevos Grandes, a black piste. The only downside Id find for the resort if I were going alone is that it is really essential to have a car, I did not find the public transport around the resort particularly useful on occasion but would still highly recommend!

The mountain is Mammoth! A great selection of terrain, most of it above the tree line. Some excellent steep chutes and cornices to throw yourself off or an insane terrain parkif you like more controlled air. Cruisey blues are great taking you for long journeys around the mountain. My favourite runs are the chutes off the foot accessed Hemlocks and trees in the Dragons back area.
