Mammoth has been my favorite since I was a kid. Lots of fun terrain, jumps, and tree runs. Just be careful if you hit the trees on the backside. I ended up a mile or two from town in a quiet, secluded place. I had no idea where I was until I heard a snowmobile and followed their tracks. Stay close to the runs or bring a map app with GPS on your phone. Be careful, have fun, and enjoy Mammy!

Love this resort
Sometimes can be a bit crowded in the early season but when the whole mountain is open is a different story
Great offpist runs
And one of the bests lodges in the west

Mammoth Mountain is in my opinion one of if not the best ski resort in California, offering an enormous array of slopes for all categories of skiers. It has great snow, long seasons, and amazing views of the other surrounding mountains. The resort is well-organized, with plenty of lifts that make it real easy to explore the mountain. Advanced skiers and snowboarders will enjoy steep terrain and terrain parks. Overall, it is a top spot to ski on the west coast for sure.

I work and Live in Mammoth. Its a very awesome place to be for the winter. This is my second year living here and just started teaching snowboarding this week. The terrain is always changing and is so much fun. The park is legendary and great for advanced-expert riders. The mountain gives you so much to explore. Also check out June Mountain for a more relaxed experience. Doesnt get near as busy and much more open runs. If you buy a mammoth pass you can check out June as well. Shred happy, let fun rule!

Always worth the drive. Drive through the night to arrive once the mountain opens and have the best day of riding California has to offer. Living in San Diego I will try to make a trip atleast 2 times a year, this year hopefully more. The drive of 6 hours is easy and beautiful. The mountain is one of the most magical places in all of California that I have ever visited, and now with apres after, offers the best party in California. DJ wildcat rocks it everytime, and most people will get a full half day of riding in before the party begins. Hoping to try out skiing this year after switching away from snowboarding. Mammoth forever!

Mammoth is great ski resort with a lot of different type of terrain for different levels of skiing or snowboarding.
I love the abundance of off piste terrain where you can create your own kind of fun!
It's very family friendly their school is excellent with amazing teachers my daughter loved every minute of her lessons. There's plenty to do once you're done skiing for the day in the village. Good variety of restaurants and coffee shops. Accommodation can be a bit expensive depending on the time of the year your coming. But there's always Airbnb if your coming with friends.

Mammoth has something for every skier or snowboarder. It has tree skiing and steeps above the tree line Mammoth has a vast lift system. It can get quite windy at Mammoth and if the top of the mountain is closed for that reason they will normally keep some lower lifts open. In that event Chair 8 is almost always open and has some some fun powder runs in a storm as well as some black diamond ways diwn as well as good runs for intermediates. In a storm chair 21 is similar, that is usually remains open no matter how bad a storm is. Joe 21 is relatively short in Mammoth terms but has some fun ways down.
