Mammoth Mountain Ski resort is top notch with an excellent variety of terrain and and ski lifts are very good too. I highly recommend getting an IKON pass to offset the high cost of single day lift tickets if you ski more than 5 days here per season. The scenery is amazing. Monday through Thursday skiing is your best bet to avoid large crowds on the weekends. Its worth the drive from Southern California areas because there is so much more areas to ski and way better snow coverage than any SoCal ski areas. There is a good mix of Snow boarders and Skiers at Mammoth Mountain. With so many ski runs and huge areas one can ski here the whole winter and well into the Spring and not be bored. ENJOY! RJ

They are finally starting to upgrade lift. Some of the hotels are nasty and charge way too much. Roads are well maintained. Some mid to high end range food. Some new restaurants that are good. Some are ehh. Olympic grade mountain for sure. Love it regardless. Always down to go.

Mammoth was great aside from the loft lines! It was a holiday weekend, but the lines were still pretty bad. Good apres, lodging options, and general accessibility

Spent New Years at Mammoth Mountain with my family and partner, and it was an unforgettable experience. We stayed in an Airbnb just five minutes from the gondola, which made getting up the mountain super convenient. Surprisingly, for a holiday weekend, the mountain wasnt overly crowded, and we never had to deal with long lift lines. The conditions were absolutely perfectfresh snow, well-groomed runs, and great visibility. Whether youre a beginner or an advanced rider, Mammoth has terrain for everyone, and we loved exploring different areas of the mountain. One negative is that skiing in the states is spenny $$$$. Overall, it was an amazing trip, and Id highly recommend Mammoth to anyone looking for a top-tier California ski destination.

Skiing in Mammoth was one of the first experiences I had as a family! We found the area beautiful, and would stay on the slops from when the lifts open until they closed! Apart from the quality of the skiing, we loved the names for the pistes as well and will definitely be coming back again to challenge Huevos Grandes, a black piste. The only downside Id find for the resort if I were going alone is that it is really essential to have a car, I did not find the public transport around the resort particularly useful on occasion but would still highly recommend!

The mountain is Mammoth! A great selection of terrain, most of it above the tree line. Some excellent steep chutes and cornices to throw yourself off or an insane terrain parkif you like more controlled air. Cruisey blues are great taking you for long journeys around the mountain. My favourite runs are the chutes off the foot accessed Hemlocks and trees in the Dragons back area.

Enjoyed spring skiing temps jn January in 40sDue to lack of recent snow both moguls and glades were iced over and not many using. Being from the east I dipped into outer trees and was delighted at the spacing of the pines but kept my longtime habit of avoiding runs locals aren't usingConditions were amazing as was amount of trails and lifts open even on quiet days after the holiday weekend. Stayed on outskirts of village, amount of shops and restaurants open was amazing. Downtown not far away ,used Bishop airport easy ride due to clear roads. One good dump and this place will be top level. We loved all the blues, blueblacks and black bowls. Didn't have the guts to attempt double black chutes. This rates with tahoe, steamboat and cottonwood canyon Utah for best of the west!

Always a good time in Mammoth! The terrain variety is incredible, with something for everyone. The snow conditions are usually excellent, especially after a good storm, and the views are breathtaking. The lifts are fast and the staff is super friendly. Overall, Mammoth is a must visit!

This is my home resort. Ski here >10 days a year. This is a large resort with world class terrain. Main gondola fits 8 people. There are several new high speed 6 person lifts. There are nice tree runs and chutes. On mountain dining is ok, overpriced compared to abroad. $20 for a burger. Apre ski eating options are mediocre and lacking. Town life is lacking. Best for experienced skiers that don't have to go back to the Base often. Lifts at the bases usually have long waits. Oftentimes gondola and upper mountains close due to strong winds. Snow is Sierra cement and wet. Not like Colorado or Utah powderr.

Mammoth is amazing! There is a variety of runs for a variety of skill types, with access to terrain parks, moguls, gulleys, off piste shoots, and easy to access tree runs! I havent met someone who didnt like this mountain. After riding the apres starts at 3, and they have bumping djs that keep the party going even during blizzards! Most accommodations via the mountain are less than 10 minutes and the town has a great set of shuttles that guarantee easy mountain access wherever you end up. Something I would highly recommend is stopping in bishop (the neighboring town) for their baked goods and famous sheepherders bread for easy mountain carbs. This is the ideal place for those with an ikon pass and large groups. I was just there with 30 people to celebrate some good powder and everyone had a great time!

One of my favorite resorts ever! Ive learned to ride here and love it every time I come! Be ready to spend a pretty penny on food, lodge and tickets, but in my opinion, its well worth it for the best slopes in California!

Very crowded on weekends- best time to ski is mid-week, non holiday. Rarely has good powder- thats why they call it Sierra cement
