First, the cons. Heavenly's lift placement makes many of their lifts susceptible to wind holds. Getting around the mountain can be tricky. There are many long traverses. If you just follow the trail map, this large resort skis smaller than its size. The beginner runs are sort of limited, narrow, and spread out or separated from other beginner runs. Next, the pros. There is a good variety of intermediate through expert terrain. The tree skiing is great. It is amazing on a powder day. If you know your way around or are fortunate enough to follow someone with local knowledge, the off-piste skiing is also fantastic. One more bit of advice. Don't forget to look up while you are skiing. The views of Lake Tahoe are also pretty good.

Skied Heavenly 7 days straight in March - 2 storms came through dumping almost 3 feet of snow! I stayed on the Nevada side at Holiday Inn Vacations and primarily skied the Nevada side. The lift lines were leas than 5 minutes. Tree runs are fantastic - great spacing and variable pitch. Hotel and Heavenly shuttles were easy to use and frequent. Cant wait to go again.!

Good resort if you're an newer to average skier/rider who wants the option of the South Lake Tahoe night life. Known for long groomers, Lake Tahoe views & a few good bump runs. It's sorta cutup & getting between the California side & the Nevada side takes time. So plan your day accordingly. It's an easy drive from Reno & parts of California and accommodations are plentiful. Enjoy!

I went to Heavenly Resort recently for my birthday, early January. Perfect time to go after the New Years and Christmas crowds. Would Love to go back soon

Love skiing Heavenly, the views are unmatched by the other Tahoe resorts Ive been to. Definitely beginner friendly but has a variety of terrain, Ive frequented Heavenly for my first two seasons skiing and love that I can always find a trail that will fit what I want for the day - an easy trail to just cruise and enjoy the view, one that will challenge me, or one that will absolutely whoop me. It can be a challenging mountain to navigate mostly because of sheer size but if youve gone a few times its not too hard to learn how to get around. I do wish that signage was better in some areas, particularly in regards to groomed vs ungroomed trails and areas where trails of different difficulty intersect - my husband and I have found ourselves on a black diamond when we are definitely still in blue territory in terms of skiing ability.

I am here now the fourth season, now as a skiing instructor. Snowmaking is superb, very important in a season like this current one. As well as grooming, corduroy every morning. So many slopes to choose from and something for every level.

Heavenly is a large resort and when they get snow there is room and Terran for everyone. There has not been enough snow lately for good off groom trails. Heavenly did finally start making snow on Gunbarrel last week, I am not sure why they waited so long. We are starting to get snow again but the snow levels are high, hopefully by the end of this week the skiing will be very good.

Good big ski resort in Tahoe with great views of Lake Tahoe. Three sides of the mountain gives you options to ski for couple days, including beginner to double blacks. Snowfall depends on the season but usually packed snow/icey, with powder on good days only

Heavenly has some of the best lake views in Tahoe, and a lot of varying terrain. The green runs arent very well connected so learning is tough here but us great at every other level. It is prone to wind holds and resort closure due to wind so keep an eye on the weather, if you have an eoic pass you can drive to northstar or kirkwood in case of closure. The surrounding area, South Lake Tahoe, has lots of hotels to stay in that are walking distance to the village and casinos if you want to gamble.
