Always love going to heavenly because theres so many different slopes. Plenty of food spots throughout the mountain so you dont have to go all the way down to eat

Ive also been skiing at heavenly since I was around 8-9. I go every year as its a 6 hour drive from my home town. Always great snow and amazing chutes and bowls.

Heavenly is a great mountain for all skiers Beginning and Expert with an Out of bounds area for experts. From long Mogul Run on Gunbarrel and world Cup, To park laps, to Off Piste runs in the famous Motts Canyon, to cruising down the most scenic ski runs on the west coast, Heavenly truly has something for everyone. Heavenly is split up between two US states. California and Nevada. You can take a ski lift in california and ski into Nevada without even knowing. Heavenly is know for having the best views offering a View of all of Lake Tahoe from several parts on the Resort. Family-Friendly and many options for Activities and Food/Drink all walking distance from the resort. You can take the Gondola from heavenly village up the resort. Heavenly village offers a variety of food, drink, and activities from magic shows to indoor mini golf. In the winter, the outdoor mini golf turns into an ice rink Next to the movie theater. Also, walking distance from the gondola are four large casinos, Harveys, Harrahs, Ballys, Golden nugget For the adults. Harveys also offers a very large exciting arcade for the kids underneath the casino. Heavenly is the best ski resort in Lake Tahoe, overall for everyones Wants and Needs. Heavenly village caters to all tourist needs from grocery stores, restaurants, skiing, and wide variety of entertainment. I highly recommend Heavenly as The best tourist/ski destination, all season long.

Overall an amazing place with outstanding views and slopes. Can get a little overcrowded in upper mountain areas during peak times but a massive mountain with endless possibilities

Heavenly is a true ski resort. It is not the greatest mountain for anything (except perhaps views!) but provides an extremely comfortable and enjoyable mountain experience for skiers and riders of all levels.
Heavenly does get great snow on a good year, and has a wide variety of options for skiers of all levels, with the only exception being hardcore park skiers & boarders.
The apres scene on the hill itself is geared more towards the relaxed dinner crowd, but with casinos only a short drive away, a show or party is very accessible. This also enhances the experience for those who dont want to spend the whole day on the mountain!
Everyone must do Heavenly at least once. The view from the top of the mountain looking out over the lake is truly breathtaking. You wont forget your trip to the top of Lake Tahoe!

If youre skiing Heavenly with someone who knows their way around the resort, you can find almost everything you could want from a ski resort, with the best ski views to boot. This is once again especially true if you know where to go for the best views.
If youre new to Heavenly, good luck finding your way around and to what you want. Furthermore, there is real danger of getting stuck in a different state than you started.
If you dont understand Heavenlys layout, you dont know which trails are flat and which are not, and youre likely to end up hiking a bit. This can be avoided almost entirely if you know where to go, but its not obvious.
Heavenly is a resort where you get what you make of it, and its not easy to make the best of it if its your first time. It also doesnt have a great park setup, and the super-extreme slopes in Killebrew Canyon are annoying to lap. Crowds can also be a big issue.
That said, I love Heavenly. The views are unbeatable and the good skiing is actually excellent and plentiful once you know how to get around the massive ski area

Heavenly is a sprawling ski resort spanning peaks in California and Nevada, rising up from the south shore of Lake Tahoe.
The views of the lake are unequalled, and for that alone Heavenly is amazing.
Heavenly has it all: plenty of long groomers; powdery bowls; shorter and extra-long mogul runs. If your legs are intact at the end of the day you can ski down Gunbarrel, a double black mogul run that drops you at California lodge. There are quieter, forested runs, especially on the Nevada side.
It can be a little tricky to get your bearings at first but you can stick to the California or Nevada sides without getting bored until youre ready to explore.
I dont think its the best place for beginners, mainly because so many of the lifts dont service any beginner terrain. That said, my kids learned to ski here from age 3. They got competent pretty quickly.
Food service isnt great on the mountain; they actually ran out of food in the early afternoon during spring skiing several days this year. Bring your own food!!
There are tons of lodging choices, from high end right at the base to budget options across the street.

I found that there was a great variety of runs. The area is stunning and there are so many accommodation choices. It is
an easy drive from San Francisco Airport .
When we were there we only had a dusting of snow so I couldn't comment on the powder skiing, however the pistes were well groomed and we enjoyed the lifts being much faster than when we visited Kirkwood.
We found the lifts there to be much older in general and not high speed like most of the lifts a t Heavenly.
There was a good beginners area for those skiing for the first time.
