Just spent four days skiing at this resort, super nice because not very busy so never have to wait very long for Lifts and gondolas. Nice to have the train connection included in the ski pass as well, but could have more trains run than just once per hour. Slopes are in very good condition and food on the slope restaurants is also good with a lot of variety but overpriced for what you get.

Large resort with a lot of runs. Plenty of powder and valleys carve. Not a fan of zig sagging across the face to get somewhere and accommodations are pricey in the area.

Fellow skiers I have been coming here since it was known as " a sleepy little Swiss ski town with amazing off-piste" to a much-expanded 7-star hotel resort.
Don't that put you off.
It retains all it's small-town charm.
Enjoy the pistes when is is nice and sunny and invest in a guide and enjoy the area when the snow is right.

Great off piste runs off Gemstock (take a map to explore); runs on sedrun /disentis side can get quite busy and (at least when we were there) firm pack/icy.
Good lift system
Pricey accommodation and eating out (though probably consistent with other Swiss resorts)

A quaint ski resort nestled in the Swiss Alps, in the canton of Uri. Historically a sleepy village which has kept its traditional charm (summed up by the Fasnacht festival held in February). However, it has received large investment in recent years with the building of the Chedi Luxury Hotel vastly improving village infrastructure, the lift systems and a growing number of high end restaurants. Easily accessible by train from Zurich, conveniently on the Matterhorn express line (2.5 Hours, or an hour transfer by car. Accommodation is take your pick from the Luxury Hotel The Chedi down to traditional guesthouses. Now the skiing, historically Andermaat gets good snowfall with it unique position, receiving snowfall from southern and northern weather fronts. The skiing is split between 2 main lift systems. The famous Gemsstock cable car (2900m), with a midtstation, 6 man and T bar which opens up vast amounts of easily accessible off piste skiing and advanced piste skiing and holds snow conditions for long periods due to altitude and orientation. The Gutsch Express offers good piste skiing, with options for learners also providing access to Sedrun and Disentis. The resort is rarely busy outside of holidays and weekend which is big win for those that dont like people and cues! Apres ski this is not but with a good group there are pleasant options on and off the slope. One suggestion to any visitor to Andermaat, The Vinothek (1620), run and hosted by Italian baker/restauranteur Dani, exceptional wines, crafter beers and artisan/tapas food.

Amazing slopes in the morning but then they get ruined. Snow quite often. Ski rental is amazing though . Pro Tip:Get on the gondola early or else there is massive queues.
