This was my second time visiting Madesimo; the first was over Christmas and New Year, and the second was late Jan.

The first visit was brilliant - slopes were quiet and the pistes were well kept. Even at a peak time, the longest I waited for a lift was 3 minutes, and most of the time there were no queues.

The second time was quieter still, with a great snow dump that resulted in fabulous skiing the next day. The runs are really fun, providing good options for skiers of all levels.

Being Italy, the food is great, and prices for food and drink is very reasonable.

I’ve been skiing in Madesimo for nearly 20 years now. Such a lovely traditional Italian village that hasn’t been affected too much by tourism. Theres only one nursery slope so it’s not the most beginner friendly but for an intermediate or confident beginner I think it’s a brilliant resort. If you decide to go I’d highly recommend the family run Hotel Andossi. Lovely room, excellent food and amazing service.
