What Skiers Say About Val Thorens
Val Thorens attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with many praising its high altitude for snow reliability throughout the season. The resort is part of the Three Valleys, offering extensive terrain and well-maintained pistes with efficient lifts and minimal queuing. Après-ski is consistently highlighted as lively and energetic, with popular venues like Folie Douce and Bar 360, though some note it caters more to a younger, party-focused crowd. Most accommodation is ski-in/ski-out, and reviewers appreciate the variety of runs, though several mention that food and drinks are expensive. Beginners note limited green runs and that many blues can be challenging or icy, while advanced skiers praise off-piste options and access to neighbouring valleys.

Everyone we met were really friendly especially the staff at la grange restaurant were we had our evening meals and breakfast every day, highly recommend going if your in the area, excellent service from all staff members.
Looking at going again next year just trying to decide where to go weather it will be Val thornes again or somewhere different as we really enjoyed our trip! Also la folie douce is a must if visiting. Luckily we managed to get tickets to Afrojack was an amazing experience to have on the slopes!
Good snow great restaurants vast terrain
The overall general ski area is huge, lots of runs to explore, apres is great and the nightlife is lively.
Slopes were groomed well every morning and held on throughout the day.
Reds and blacks were extremely quiet green and blues a little busier but everyone there were very respectful.
My favourite apres particularly the saloon bar.
Pricing was steep, but it was worth it for the skiing alone.
