Huge area to ski with varied terrain. High altitude means very snowsure. Plenty of other activities available. Apres is great for both families and the booze loving crowd.

Had a great time snowboarding in Tignes, the apres was next level. So much of the mountain to explore. I was there a week and every day explored a different part of the mountain. Snow was also great in March.

I have stayed in Val Claret 3 years in a row now so I cant profess to know the resort intimately however, Im still going back, so must like it, right? Yeah, its ok.
Positives: Variety of pistes, convenience of accommodation near to slopes, snow surety, scenery is stunning
Negatives: Weather (when it comes in, it REALLY comes in!!), prices of.well, everything!, village not picturesque, some of accommodation is very small.

Look, I like it and enjoy it there but, had it not have been for the fact that I was there is a large group of families, I wouldnt go back. I cant quite put my finger on it except to say that it doesnt have the friendliness of Austria, the food of Italy or the prices ofactually, all ski resorts are expensive so cant really use that.

Top tip: Get the first Tuffs lift and get over to Val dIsere to ski the Olympic run before everyone else gets up. Totally worth the early morning for a quiet groomed, steep flyer.

Mega resort, simply huge.
Guaranteed great snow conditions, brilliant off-piste, even some trees if you look for them.

Great snow even in early spring. Off piste is great and the link to Val disere is brilliant. Food and accomodation can get expensive but compared to val disrere its not bad at all. Overall great experience and would recommend

Great for young people and big groups. Slopes were mostly poorly groomed and un groomed which made it more of an effort.

To me, Tignes Has always tried to advertise itself as the cool Sister of Val d'Isère, less concerned with looking pretty and more concerned with having fun. It has excellent accommodation options to suit most budgets, And has lots of buses running from Bourg Saint-Maurice. Combining ski areas with Val, It has one of the best ski areas in the Alps. Après bars make it very lively late into the evening, And the famous Val dIsere Fole Douche, Is only a short chair lift away, But make sure you dont get caught on the wrong side of the mountain because it is a long long bus journey back over.

I visited in October ( yes you can ski in the alps in October) to get some pre season skiing on the glacier.

To acess the glacier you take a funicular railway through the mountain. The skiing up top was great and you get so see lots of the professional teams ski slalom etc in preparation for the season. Quite extraordinary to watch so close from the lift when going up!

Came here as an absolute beginner, stayed at the Chalet Rosset, which was devine , great food , great staff, Room a little small , but lovely view. Not enough snow to ski in ski out.

As a beginner the free lifts within the area around Tignes le Lac were brilliant , giving access to several blue easy to moderate blue runs, without the need for a ski pass, 10/10 for this. The green run marked in the village itself is more like a moderate/hard short blue, which feels very daunting as a beginner.

Did 2 days with the ski school, evolution, not a great experience, an opinion share by several of us adults in the ski school group I was in, as a former coach of a different sport I was pretty disappointed and shocked by the attitude of the coaches. So I only did 2 days, then set about teaching myself.

This was help greatly by the free lifts and access to easy/moderate blues. The green is a BLUE....

Are out once at the Pork Restaurant, stunning food and service.

All in all a good introduction to skiing , facility and run wise, the green runs away from the town accessed by lifts are superb .

The one downside is the black run home when you live on a certain side can get quite busy ! And the après isnt close enough

Fantastic resort in terms of vibe, scenery and terrain. Tignes is a skiers paradise for intermediate and advanced skiers. With extensive terrain linked to Val d'Isere, it boasts a massive 300km of piste offering long runs, challenging blacks, and incredible off-piste opportunities. The reliable high altitude snow makes it a great choice for early and late season trips.

However, beginners beware! While there are some manageable blues, the dedicated beginner areas are limited, and some blues can be trickier than expected. Après-ski is lively, especially in Val Claret, but expect it to be on the pricier side. Accommodation often offers ski-in/ski-out convenience, which is a major perk. Overall, Tignes excels for experienced skiers seeking vast terrain, reliable snow, and a lively atmosphere.

I was on a ski trip organised from university. The skiing was truly amazing in tignes. There is so much to discover, I was able to go a different route every day and for my 2 week vacation I still couldnt go to every route there. Apres is great too.

From beginners through to extreme skiers there is so much area no chance of being bored also even in poor snow years there is always plenty of the white stuff

Really good skii resort for Apres Ski and food. Lots of cheap accommodation and skii resort has good balance of pisted different level runs for all abilities. Loved it here!

Ive been skiing annual in Tignes for 17 years. Its changed over the years, but it always gives me reasons to go back. As an off piste skier the amount and diversity of off piste skiing is great and mostly easily accessible from most lifts. Prices have increased in the past few years for food and drink but the skiing always is worth it. Pistes are well maintained and ski school and guides are well trained and efficient. I would highly recommend

It's been a while since I went to tignes so my views aren't up to date anymore. My last holiday was to Baqueira in Spain which was very good but not available as an option

One of the best resorts for groomed piste skiing with easy access to off-piste fun.

Part of large ski zone when Inc. Val DIsere.

If conditions permit there is also access to some serious off-piste adventures.

Services, ski schools and guides is excellent however the resort itself is pretty ugly so dont go looking for alpine charm, nonetheless great holiday facilities for families.

Great ski resort, high so snow sure. Villages are easily linked with 24 hour shuttle bus.

Great choice of bars and restaurants. Not as cheap as Les Deux Alpes but restaurants for various budgets. We didnt have one bad meal whilst there.

Skiing superb, and several snow parks for varied ability.

Has become one of our favourites.
